Hi ladies! Not sure if anyone remembers, but a few months ago DH and I were in the process of buying a house. Unfortunately, the mortgage company was dishonest with us and it didn't work out. We kept a positive attitude and knew something better would come along and this weekend, it did! We found another house that doesn't have as much character as the other (which is why we loved is so much), but it's set up perfectly and needs A LOT less work. We made a full price offer today and are in the process of getting approved by another bank (the guy took a quick look and triple guaranteed we would get at least a certain amount). While the other house had more potential for us to more than double our money over the next few years, this one is completely livable as is and is 50 years "younger." We'll be doing a lot of updates, but it's all cosmetic (hopefully) so we can do them over time.
We do know they had an offer a few months ago that fell through, so we're trying to see if we can get a copy of the home inspection just to ease our minds (a lot of things came up at the last house that even the seller didn't know about) before we spend another $500 on our own inspection.
Our lease is up 3/31, so we need this to move quickly. Hopefully we can go month-to-month for a few months if we have to; we don't want to sign a new lease and then have to worry about getting out of it and the owners are already asking about it. I'm terrified they'll rent or sell to someone else if we don't have an answer for them soon!
Sorry that got so long. If you guys could spare a few seconds and send some good ju-ju my way I'd really appreciate it!!!
