Throwback Thursday

I never really understood this. Why only post old pictures on Thursdays? I put one up. hahah! My sister tagged me in it a few days ago. It's pretty sweet picture. I'm 7, which makes my little sister 3 (as evident by the candles) and my older sister would be 10 then. My hair still does that annoying thing where one side flips under and the other doesn't. hahaha! Love it.
I haven't worked on my A&P project at all, and it's due next Friday. Oops.
We're having friends over for game night on Sunday and our house is disgusting, but I don't feel like cleaning.
My one friend is a vegetarian....anyone got any good snack ideas?! The snacks we usually make contain meat. I know I can just do like veggies&dip, but sometimes that's boring.

Re: Throwback Thursday

  • Good Morning! I had a docs appointment this morning. Women Check-Up or poke and tickle as my sister calls it. And than she had the nerve to send me next store to have blood drawn. Boo! I hate needles. I decided becuse I was such a good patients that I am going out for Chipolte, yum!

JLQ: Spinach and Articoke Puffs or dip! Humus and stuff mushrooms. Thats all I could think of off the top of my head.

  • I full support your going out! You definitely deserve it after all that!!! Having a lady doc visit is bad enough, let alone blood taken after!
I was talking about this with my friends the other day...do you see a regular gyno for your yearly visit? I just get mine done at my PCP. When we moved here, the first time I went to his office he asked if I wanted to set it up with a gyno or just do it there, and it was so much easier to just do it there, so I do. My friends think that's weird.

Hey thanks for those suggestions!! I forgot about spinach balls! My MIL has a great recipe for them.

  • I just go to my regular doctor. I don't have a gyno anymore. When I moved from my home I new doctor said they could handle it. Than same thing in Syracuse and now same thing in Rochester. I don't think it is werid at all.

Also you could go mexican as well. Taco Dip or Gucamole. I thought of this on my way back from lunch.

  • See I didn't think it was weird to just go to my regular doctor, either! Thought I might have to go to an actual gyno soon because I've been having period issues. They aren't irregular, but they are super heavy and come with terrible cramps and clots and maybe this is all TMI. hahha. Oops. Sorry! I just don't want to be handed some BCP and told "here, take these, it will fix it" because that's what happened before. I was having these same issues and my gyno put me on birth control, which was fine, until I stopped taking it. Now I'm having the same issues again.

  • We are good on the TMI. I would think BC would fix your problem but there is probably something other than BC you could take. I just don't knwo what. I am on BC mostly to control my migraines. It also prevent pregency and helps with my period. I asked my doctor how long I could take BC with out it causing harm and she said forever. Is there a reason you don't want to take the pill?

  • Yes. Partly because I didn't like what it did to my body..I had 0 sex drive when I was on it and just felt kind of emotionless a lot of the time. Also, I don't really want to take it if it's not necessary because I don't like taking medicine in general, so adding hormones to my body seems so silly to me. Also it goes against my church, which isn't the major reason, but it's always at the back of my mind nagging at me. And I've been trying so hard to use NFP that I'd hate to fall back on the pill.

  • A good friend of mine lives in Alaska and she's having a baby boy, and just found out she's  being induced early due to health complications...I've been working on putting together a package to send to her of baby items and I may have went a little crazy at Target today. Then I got home, added it all up, and realized I didn't spend as much as I thought I did! So I feel pretty proud of myself. hahaha!

I understand not wanting to be on the pill. It affects my sex drive as well. As far as putting extra horomones if they make me less crazy I am all for it, haha! All kidding aside I mainly take it because of my migraines and I guess I will be on it till menopause. I wonder if taking Ortho Low or one of the low dose ones would work for you better if there isn't other options. When I was on that one my sex drive was normal but my headaches were as if I wasn't taking anything. Maybe that would work. Either way I hope it gets better. Being a girl sucks!!

Yea for babies and shopping for babies! They have the cutest baby clothes, especially for boys!

  • I seriously can't wait for more of my friends to have kids so I can buy all the baby things! hahah!!! They had the most adorable clothes, and it hurt not to buy any but she said they had sooo many 0-6 month clothes already.

My first dr. put me on ortho-tri-cylcin low and OHMYGOSH I was fucking nuts on that shit!!! My hormones were SO out of whack. I was crying all the time, for no reason, or just in an overall downer of a mood and then the next day I'd be all upbeat and happy and it was so awful.
Then I was on Yaz, which ya know, is terrible for you. It really cleared up my face, though. hahaha!

  • I may or may not have spent the last 45 minutes looking for that threat we talked about where Missie said she'd never be a SAHM and now she partly is. I couldn't find it. Boo.
