Re: Ok, bets on how much snow we are actually going to get this weekend??

  • I wouldn't mind having a free day off (since we get no paid holidays until Memorial Day), so I'm going with 12 inches - hoping that a foot of snow forces my workplace to close on Monday.
  • I'm going with 3 inches.  I feel like we've been in this situation a couple times this winter and it always ends up being 3 inches.

  • Amber-that could be another bet in and of itself...what is the threshold that we need to get to for area colleges to shut down?  I have a bad feeling that Pitt would continue to operate with 12 inches of snow.

  • Emmy, I'm pretty sure it's wishful thinking on my part.  They VERY reluctantly closed during snowmaggedon, and that was 20some inches.   We already received emails about their "snow removal plan" and which pathways to use on Monday morning, as those would be the first to be cleared.
  • I'm going with 0-2.  For every storm that has been predicted, people freak the F out, post a bunch of panicked statuses on FB, and then nothing really impressive happens.  I feel like the only time a major storm happens is when it's not expected.

That being said, I am hoping for any amount that will justify a work from home day...thanks to modern technology I have no chance of ever having a snow day.

  • I'm going 3-4. Enough to make traffic a cluster, but not enough to justify a shut down. Though I'm on team 'Let's get a snow day' ;)

This is also what I am hoping for. Though my snow day=work from home.
  • 1-4

I hope its a bust.  If my kids miss another day of school we go into mid June.  Plus I have to be in Uniontown on Monday so I would prefer a non eventful drive.

  • at this point, North Hills has lost all of their built in snow days (there were 3) so any other days, they tack onto the end of the year, but they're scheduled to be done the first week of June so even if they add on a bit of time, it's not too bad.

  • I would like to have a lot, so much that Slippery Rock cancels classes. I have so much work to do this weekend and if I could have Monday off to do work at home I could get caught up. Kind of sad when you hope you don't have to go to work so you can catch up on work.
