GTKY: Weekend

What is your favorite long weekend trip? Obviously this means no cross country travel but close to home place.

Re: GTKY: Weekend

  • We have too many to pick just one favorite! It is a tie between Marquette, Tahquamenon Falls, or Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. All just beautiful areas with great hiking, exploring and food. I can't wait until summer!!!

  • When we go up to the northern part of the province to 'camp' on some land that FIL has. It's not really camping... We have electricity, basically a full kitchen, running water (we do have to haul water, but we have a full shower/bath and washing machine) and individual bunk houses. It's pretty awesome. We're right on the river, awesome quad trails, walking, kayaking the whole 9 yards. I do still have to pee in an outhouse lol

  • South Jersey shore is my favorite place on the planet. We are only about 90 minutes, we try to go as much as possible.

  • H and I usually make the drive to Pittsburgh once or twice a year. Ikea is one of my favorite places so that is a huge plus but we also love the area.

  • We go to the Cape every Labor Day weekend with friends from college. I look forward to it all year! We also went to Saratoga Springs NY last year for a weekend. It has a great downtown and it's perfect for a night away!

  • We like to go to Dallas it's just 3 hours away and there is a lot to stop an do on the way. Also my dad was living fairly close and we would go up there a lot not much to do but we could visit them.
  • Cape May or Wildwood is our usual long weekend place.  Sometimes we'll go to Washington DC

  • We don't go on many, but from where I live places like Chicago and northern Michigan would be reasonable places. We do go my parent's house. They live an hour away. I also have a BIL, SIL and nephews who vlive in Sarnia, Ontario so we go there sometimes. It is a 3 hour drive.

  • We usually just go to Bethany Beach, DE. My parents live there so we'll take a long weekend at their house sometimes. I miss the beach so badly. I'm so over this snow!
