QOTD 3/3

I heard on the radio this morning that the new thing is to use conditioner on your hair BEFORE shampooing and it is supposed to make your hair really shiny. What do you guys think about this? Would you try it?

Re: QOTD 3/3

  • My mom JUST told me about this Saturday!  I will probably try it tonight, it can't really hurt anything.

  • Never heard of this.  I guess I'll try it, just seems backwards!
  • Hmmm, interesting. I probably won't just because I use a leave-in conditioner and I don't think my hair would function well without it.

  • that seems counterproductive because the shampoo would likely wash away the conditioner...but I probably would have tried it when my hair was long because I was desperate for anything to make my hair shiner.  But now I don't use conditioner because my hair is so short.

  • Somehow that would not surprise me if that would work. I'd probably still pass on trying it though. I hate when my hair is shiny.

  • It makes sense. Conditioner seals holes in the strand, trapping all those oils and nutrients in. Shampoo washes away dirt, toxins and excess oils.

I have found that only washing my hair one day and conditioning only the next seems to do the trick.

This is what I was thinking...

  • I've never heard of that. I'd be willing to try it though.

  • I guess it couldn't hurt to try, but I agree that it seems like it'd be washing away your conditioner. However, my hair is SO dry and fried and damaged lately that I suppose it can't hurt.

  • I've never heard of this.  I don't think I'd try it because I am and a stickler for the "rules."  Since you're supposed to, according to directions, shampoo then condition, I think straying would freak me out.  If anyone tries this, let me know how it goes.
  • So I tried it today and I can't really say that my is shinier but it does feel different - almost lighter. I may have to continue this the rest of the week and see what the results are after a week. I will probably forget though since I am so used to shampoo then conditioner.
