event at Consol-questions

We're taking the kids to Disney on Ice Wednesday, it will be our first time at Consol.  What are my best options for parking?  And is there a decent food selection inside (I know there's Fridays & stuff, but looking more for non-sit down, but also more than just nachos, if that makes sense)

thanks :)

Re: event at Consol-questions

  • We always just park right at the Consol.  I've never had too much trouble getting out of the lot.  And it's typically about the same as the surrounding lots.  (Last time we did Disney on Ice I think it was $10).   They do have some chicken fingers/fries type of food at the stands that you guys could eat.  Or you could take an apple in your purse and have the kids share it.  Whichever suits you best.   ;)
  • Here is the entire list

We usually park across the street at the hotel.

  • Amber-you know chicken fingers were exactly what I was on the lookout for!!  :)  it could have been a very un-disney like reaction from the kids if that was not a menu option!

We tend to park at the Smithfield garage and walk, but that might be a little much with the kiddos. Inside - we like to hit up the Burgatory stand - yum!
  • Burgatory is a stand?  sweet, I figured it was a sit down.  I've never been to the "real" one, but I have been wanting to try it!

Oooh I forgot about Burgatory!  mmmmmm. We are going to Disney on Ice on Friday.  We normally park at the Marriott.

  • ditto parking at Marriott. Although take it from me..... park in a spot backing in. We were on a end last year and when it was time to go it took forever to get out because no one would let me back out. :)

Yep, it's a stand:) They have several of their basic burgers, you get chips with it and they have shakes. No customizing the burgers like in the restaurant, but the burgers were still awesome:)
  • There's also a Nakama stand. Burgatory's line is often long, but the stand is decent.

We're going Friday night, though we haven't told the boys yet :)

I usually park at the mellon employee lot with Steve's pass. They also take others at the event rate. If I were you, I'd park at Consol's lot.

  • Lisa-we told the boys awhile back (it was a christmas present to them) though they seem to have completely forgotten about it.  I reminded them the other day, they got all excited, but the confusion set in....Jake thought he would get to go ON the ice and skate.  Liam thought he would get to meet his character friends, just like at Disney.  This whole thing could be a bust!

  • We park at the garage at Smithfield and Liberty and though it's a bit of a walk, it's $5 versus $18+ and you can get out really easily.

I'd recommend skipping Burgatory at Consol if it's your first time. That would be like eating primanti's at the stadium for your first time. It's good, but not the "real thing."

Good luck at the show! I'm concerned at Logan losing his mind if he can't hug the characters, which is why he hasn't gone yet.

    I agree about Burgatory.

  • Also I'm not sure that everything will be open for the show since its usually not sold out.  Just a caution.  You can park across at old civic arena - easy access home in HOV lane
