Re: PIP Your Favourite Oscars Dress

  • Lupita Nyong'o had my favorite dress, but I think she's a lot of people's favorite.  So instead I'll go with my second favorite.

I only watched some of it. I was actually almost liking Angelina last night, which is weird. I typically don't care for her because she always looks like she has a stick shoved up her butt, but last night she was actually smiley and looked great. She wasn't my fave though. I loved Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, Lupita, and Camila Alves. Yeah, I can't pick just one. Oh and Jared Leto! Not a dress, but very well dressed! I'm too lazy to PIP any of them though.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • Since Looney PIP'd Angie first though, I also thought Cate Blanchett's gown was stunning. The sheer fabric at the top and all the gorgeous jeweling and embellishment. Perfection!

  • You guys already posted most of my favorites.  Lupita is just perfection.  I also loved Kristen Chenoweth:

I usually really look forward to the nightmare dresses on the red carpet, but there weren't that many this year. A lot of dresses weren't my taste, but not many were horrendous. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Whoopie.  Yikes!

I was also very pleasantly surprised by the total lack of nightmares! Everyone's hair and makeup and gowns were really just so well put together all around. I found a few complaints looking through Oscar party pics with actresses who didn't attend the actual awards, but otherwise, everyone was good!

And Whoopi is really her own entity, hahaha. I can't fault her for being a little kooky.

Is Whoppi's dress that same one Julia Roberts wore to the Golden Globes?

Yes!  Well, I haven't read that it's the exact same designer, but it's certainly the same.

I didn't think this dress did much for her. I think she looks kind of frumpy. I think it's where the waist hits her and the sequins. It makes her boobs look saggy to me. She is a stunning person and could pull off a paper bag, but I don't think the dress does her justice.

If that's what saggy boobs look like then I was worried about getting old for no reason!  :)
