It's shrove Tuesday!

edited March 2014 in May 2012 Weddings
Or for me Pancake Tuesday, and that means it's the one day a year H will agree to breakfast for supper and I get pancakes for supper! Wooo! Lol

Anyone giving up anything for lent?

  • I have never heard it referred to as Shrove Tuesday and I've heard it called that TWICE today!

    I don't give anything up.

  • I have also never heard it called Shrove Tuesday it's always been Fat Tuesday but I also live in Louisiana which is Mardi Gras/Catholic Central this time of year.

I used to give up stuff but then after Lent was over I went right back to it so it. So now I don't really give up anything but I agree with @kushie77 I just use the time for family, prayer, reflection, etc.
  • I never heard of that either! Fat tuesday!

I have had to give up most of my vices thanks to my awesome heart condition.

I think Im going to be more thankful and prayful. Maybe I actually go to church!

  • Paczki Day for this Polish girl!!

Last year I gave up social media. This year I'm giving unnecessary spending. Meaning, no dinners out, movies, new clothes/shoes/books.

This is a great idea! I may steal it.

  • I've never observed lent in the past, but I did declare I would go on a low carb diet starting in March, so that happens to line up with lent. Not on purpose though, it's like a belated new years resolution.
