Not MM related: Don't wanna get surgery but need to
I've been putting it off for a year now but it's time to bite the bullet and get my umbilical hernia repaired. I'm sure it will be a breeze compared to my c/section, but I think I'm more nervous of being put out. At least with the c/section I was awake and knew what was going on. Has anyone on this board had a hernia repair? About how long did it take you to get back to every day activities? I'm meeting with my surgeon today to set up a date on the calendar.
Re: Not MM related: Don't wanna get surgery but need to
My dad had two hernia surgeries. His recovery time took a while. But part of that I believe is because he put off the sugeries for so long. His one scheduled surgery almost had to be turned into an emergency surgery because the pain got so bad. Had he not waited until they had gotten so bad, I believe his recovery time would have been faster. But in general he was back to moving around slowly within a few days but he couldn't do any heavy lifting for several and he wasn't able to drive for 1-2 weeks after the surgery. Again this could have been impacted by the amount of time he let pass before dealing with this issue.
Good luck and wishes for a speedy recovery.
