Monday Accountability Post
Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend!
How MM was your weekend?
Any Progress Towards Goals?
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Re: Monday Accountability Post
How MM was your weekend?
Walmart- $31
Gas- $39
B-day gift for dad- $25
Dinner- $15
Owe federal tax return- $67
Total- $177
Any progress towards goals?
Well H just decided he was going to partially drop out of the program that he was going to school for. He wasn't doing well and the teacher was a total airhead, so he will finish the pre-req class until August that he will need and will put the other part of the program aside for now until we decide if we are going to move to a LCOL by next year, so he may put off the program until that point. So we lost about $2500-$3000 as he got to the mid-term point, but that's ok. We will be able to continue building out E-fund/house DP fund while he just focuses on 1 class instead of 2.
If you could live anywhere, would would it be?
Sunny California
How MM was your weekend?
Not that great. I spent more than I planned on, and we went out to eat. I spent about $60 more than planned/budgeted.
Any Progress Towards Goals?
We decided to put the remaining tax refund away into our savings. I'm still waiting for my RI state refund to come in (it's been 3 weeks today) so I can pay the MA state taxes that I owe. I also paid a big chunk to a credit card (it will be paid off in 2 weeks) and I also paid off two other credit cards.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Definitely Florida. I love the weather and scenery.
How MM was your weekend?
Not too shabby. $30 for dinner for my dad's birthday, $40 on groceries, and $25 on a baby shower gift.
Any Progress Towards Goals?
Got all of our initial payments made. In total we paid off 8.5 student loans. I can't even begin to explain the sense of relief we both feel.
Also, it's crazy, but we feel so much stress and weight off our shoulders now that our budget is stable. Now coming up with money for unexpected things (H's root canal and crown) doesn't seem like such a huge burden. Instead were writing a check out for it and getting a discount because we're paying cash. 6 months ago we would've freaked out.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Hmm, probably Europe.

How MM was your weekend? It was pretty good, but mainly because hubby and I were both sick in bed most of the weekend. Easy not to spend money when you spend most of your weekend sleeping.
Any Progress Towards Goals? Continuing to get debt amounts lower month by month and watching spending.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Honestly, not sure I would move. I like that I don't live in a hurricane or tornado zone. I get to enjoy all four season, I live on Lake Erie so I get to enjoy the water and we have a great park park system in our area to enjoy the outdoors.
2) We got both our tax refunds back last week so it went straight into savings. I also applied to a few good paying jobs but they are kind of long shots!
3) San Diego, CA! If family and friends were already there, (and if the COL wasn't higher than even expensive MA) I would move in a heartbeat!
2. We recently paid off H's truck and one of his students loans. We'll be getting extra money the next couple of months from H re-enlisting and from training so we plan on paying off two credit cards, two student loans and saving for baby.
3. I'd love to live in Marquette, MI
How MM was your weekend? We had a pretty good weekend. Went out for lunch with my sister yesterday, and I think that was about $40 for the 3 of us. Other than that, we both filled up with gas, so that was $80. And I bought C 2 outfits at the BRU sale, so that was $6.50. Not a bad weekend.
Any Progress Towards Goals? Nothing financial to report, although DH has almost finished installing all the new trim pieces that needed to be installed after the wood floor went down.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Probably North Dakota to be closer to our families. Although I would hate to return to the cold weather, it really sucks there right now.
How MM was your weekend?
Really good! I only spent $30 on gas and $14 on parking in the city for a show. The one benefit of FI being on weekend nights is we don't go out and spend a bunch of money!
Any Progress Towards Goals?
I cut up my credit cards which felt really good! Now I for sure won't be getting myself into more debt. We also got our taxes done, each of us is getting $1,300 back which will go to different wedding expenses and paying off credit cards. Soon we'll be able to save!
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Somewhere warm, sunny, with palms trees all year round! Possibly the Florida Keys. It's always been a dream of FI and I to own a beach bar, so that seems like a fun spot!
How MM was your weekend?
Could have been better, but not much we could have done differently.
$10 Home Depot
$250 Travel documents so DH can visit Brazil and finally meet my family
$280 Unexpected Vet Bill for one of the cats.
Any Progress Towards Goals?
Well, that money for the vet was going to go towards debt repayment, but not so much now.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I love the beach and lived in Miami when I was younger so I'd love to move back to that part of the Florida. Or I would love to move to Brazil so that I'd be close to my family and the beach! (I'm taking DH there at the end of this month, so maybe I can convince him that Rio is awesome, haha)
2. We hit a milestone-$1,000 in our DP fund! This is beyond our e-fund and car funds. Still soooo far to go, but the next $1000 should be quicker once we get our refund, I get my stock transferred into my name, and we have a few good saving months.
3. I love living in New England, but in my wildest dreams I'd live in New Zealand. I visited in college and loved it so much there.
2. Opened up a new account to put money aside for travel/ vacation.
3. I like living in NJ, but this winter really made me think about relocating to warmer weather. No specific state/ city, just some place where there's no snow and temperature stays above 50.
2. We paid off two student loans! Small ones, but it is definitely progress. On the non-MM side, we found out that I'm pregnant, so that is going to cost some serious $$$$! Baby was planned for, it just means our debt will be paid off slightly slower. I'm so excited!!
3. Minnesota for sure, but New Zealand is awesome an I'd go there if I could take my family to move too!
2) Paid off my credit card on Friday that was used to pay medical bills and MW's work lap top.
3) In the United States, I would say were I am living now, Akron, Ohio since I am close to my parents and we live close enough to in-Laws that MIL is our primary care giver for our son.
If I could live anywhere, it would be Germany especially one of the smaller towns close to one of the slightly larger cities but I would have to move MW's family there also.
Congrats!
Congrats- so exciting!
We already live in Northern Michigan so it's not much colder
