talk about being productive!
this past weekend all my dreams started to become a reality!! (a little dramatic much?) haha.
we ripped out all the carpet in the dining room, family room, and the tile out of the foyer. this weekend hardwood floors go in!! I was exhausted after all that demo but I cannot wait for the final product.
then yesterday I had a snow day so we painted all the interior doors in the house and we've decided to put new door knobs on everything. I also painted the brick on the fireplace and will do the mantle tonight.
so many fun and long awaited changes!
until the floors go in, Ben and I are basically camped out in our bedroom. all the family room/dining room furniture is in the nursery and guest bedrooms and the house is a complete construction zone. I couldn't be more excited!

Yay for new flooring!! It will feel like a whole new house. I also love how fast paint and new hardware can change a room.
Did you buy specific paint to use while you are pregnant? I heard someone talk about how they cant paint because of the fumes while they were pregnant. It would be extrememly hard to get away with not painting in our new house if I am pregnant when we move in. I know you can buy a low/no flume paint now. I figured that person was just trying to get out of painting.
flooring in the nursery and other 2 bedrooms is going to be carpet. it certainly wasn't my #1 choice, but i'm perfectly happy with it since its just the bedrooms. and it will be new, not the nastiness we have now!

Jillian the paint I got is a low VOC paint which is exactly what you want to use when pregnant. no fumes and just as easy to use as any other paint. all companies have a low voc product, we got ours from Lowes.

This. You're definitely putting me to shame! Nesting didn't hit me until I was 41w4d, but then I started having contractions and it was too late! So glad you're getting it all done now so you can just relax and enjoy Bear when he's here!

Not right now, I was just hoping you weren't using Empire. That salesman was the rudest a**hole I had met in a long time.Ben wanted to call Empire because of their good deals and I was like, they aren't good deals!! they mark everything up so that they can give you 1 room free or whatever.
we were able to get a great price on the flooring though since this is a sub I use all the time
