Disney on Ice info for those who asked

The show was great!!  I guess I was unprepared for how many people would be going (it looked like it was sold out or at least very close to it), because traffic getting down there was crazy.  I left my house at 6pm (show started at 7) and we walked in through the gates at 6:55pm (it would normally take about 20 minutes to get there from my house)

We parked at the lot to the left of the main entrance, if you're looking at Consol; it was $10 and it was easy to get out of after, I was able to zip right onto the HOV from there.  I had looked at the site beforehand to see if they would search your bag/if you could bring in anything...the site said it would be searched and you couldn't bring in any outside food or drinks, so I didn't (I had wanted to throw in little bags of pretzels or something since my kids beg for food every 2 hours or so)  My bag wasn't searched at all, I started to open it and the guy just waved me in, so FYI in case you want to sneak in some snacks :)  We didn't end up getting food there (thank goodness, since we wouldn't have had time, the lines were crazy long everywhere)  The show started around 7:10, which worked out well since we were running a bit late.  there was a brief intermission, then the show ended around 9:15 or so I think?

My kids were enthralled by it, there was pretty much any character from classic disney or pixar movies you could think of.  (although there was no Peter Pan/Hook/Tinkerbell, which struck me as odd and Jake was bummed, he loves Peter Pan)  I was also pleasantly surprised by our seats, I had the $12 opening night special and we were 5 or 6 rows back from the ice!

Enjoy the show to all of you going, I'm sure your kiddos will love it.  Oh, and I shoved some glo sticks in my purse that I had leftover from our disney trip...I'm glad we had them, the first thing my kids asked for were those spinny glow things.  I stopped and asked a guy selling them in the stands how much they were...$22-$25 each!  There were people selling knock off ones (along with glo swords) in the parking lot for $12, so just a heads up, that would be a better buy if you're planning on getting something anyway! :)

  • Thanks so much Emmy! Really appreciate your review! Sounds like you guys had a blast! I am so excited!
  • Emmy, the show last year was Pirate themed, so that may be why they didn't break out peter pan/hook/tinkerbell this year. They were the main focus of last year's show.

I'm excited to take the boys tomorrow, they loved it last year.

  • No Elsa and Anna right?:)
  • Great review!  Thank you.  I guess we should be prepared for some traffic.  The girls have $10 each from Valentines' day that I told them they could take to the show.  What do you think the odds are they sell anything for 10 bucks?  I was all excited to eat out somewhere before the show until I realized its Lent and it will be Friday.  Looks like we are going out for meatless pizza.

  • lala-have them use the $10 on the guys selling stuff in the parking lot :)  otherwise, I saw some cups inside that were character themed (and had sno-cones in them) for $12.  they had some hats for sale, but I couldn't see the prices on those.

Lily- No Anna & Elsa :(  My boys were also hoping for a surprise appearance by them!

  • Thanks for the head up!  That's a bummer about Ana and Elsa.  The girls would have gone crazy if they got to see them!

  • We went this morning with the daycare. If anyone went two years ago.... It is the same show! DD didn't seem to care. :) she did comment no tangled either.
  • We went last nite! Thanks for the parking idea, we breezed right out of there, Emmy! It was our first time seeing it and it was great! Sno cones in the cup were very popular there!  It was a great show and such talent!
