Re: CPW- Curtains

  • I just got new ones today for our bedroom. A room isn't complete without them, IMO.

  • FFC - I went to Ikea last week to find cheap curtains to stage our home, and ended buying the black out liners cause they were the perfect shade of light grey and felt less 'cheap' than the other options. And I love them. Wish I did this 5 years ago.

  • We asked for most of the window treatments to be left with the house when we bought it. So we still have almost all of the original blinds and curtains that the former owner had up.

FFC- your FB post inspired this poll. :-)
  • Yes! We don't have blinds yet, so the curtains do double duty in our house.

FFC: When we moved in, our house was on a dead end and was the only house around. We were surrounded by woods (creepy, I know). We didn't have curtains for 6 months (when new house was built next door). Anyone who walked by our house at certain times could have seen, um, things in our bedroom as it faces the road.

  • We have blinds all throughout the house. They look clean, nice. I have curtains to put up in the living room, but I don't know how to hang them. The front window is fairly large, and I haven't found the right size curtain ROD. So I have them hanging in my closet. Simple burlap type... Would look so cute up.

  • When we bought the house, it was in the agreement that the sellers leave all the window treatments. That was 5 years ago and we have yet to touch them. It was probably a weird request on our part, but we literally just wanted to move our shit into the house and be done with it. We never so much as picked up a paint brush or hung a shade.

  • I've only got curtains on my living room and dining room windows/sliding door in dining room. We've been here almost 6 years and I have yet to get around to really decorating/designing my rooms, mostly because of lack of funds. It's depressing to think about.

I do have blinds on all the windows though, so we've got privacy.

  • We have blinds on our windows (courtesy of the apartment complex), but I've been wanting to put up curtains, especially in the living room, to both brighten the space and provide some extra "protection" from snoopers.

We have curtains in our bedroom and the second bedroom / game room, and paper shades everywhere else.  We live on the second floor of a duplex so it's not as much as of a necessity.  My parents who live below us mostly have blinds.

Ugghh, I know! Cleaning the blinds are a biatch! I hate it. That is the one part of the house I am bad with. Dusting blows!
