I think I found a daycare for Bear!! such a huge weight would be lifted!
we have a friend that brings her son to this lady's house. she has an opening for an infant, cloth diapers her kids so she's fine with doing that for us and wishes everyone would, has outside animal care time every day with the kids. she has chickens and dogs and brings her animals to my MIL's vet clinic. they go on 1-2 walks every day depending on the weather, and she said most of the kids leave there for kindergarten reading and writing. obv. Bear will go there as an infant so he's not going to be feeding chickens but he'll be getting outside.
my friend loves it there and her son is thriving. and the best part its only $40 a day and 5 min down the road from our house. my SIL pays 1300 a month for her infant and 1200 for her 2 year old and that was out of the question for us, doable if we had to, but I don't want to.
so what questions do you ask someone when you go to interview them to watch your child?
Re: such a relief!
Thats a great deal!
I would ask her how she would handle emergencies with a child. Not the actual emergency, but what she would do with the other children should something happen to one of them and they needed to go to the hospital.
Who has access to her home on a regular basis as well as who will be there on a regular basis. You know, family members dropping by. Kids friends, that kind of thing.
What her vacation/time off entails. Do you still have to pay while shes on vacation? How many days does she allow herself off each year?
What is her sick child policy?
How does she keep each childs personal belongings seperate? Bottles, Pacifiers, diapers, clothes.
Once he starts on actual foods, what does she provide? What are you expected to provide?
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now.
Does she have anyone for backup? Meaning if she is sick or has a doctor appt. Where do the kids sleep?
thank you girls for all the questions!! this is very helpful.
she did tell me she'll only watch 1 infant at a time, and that would be Bear. her current 'infant' is my friends son and he turned 1 in December so she's ready to make room for a new one and will hold my spot until August/September.
