Building a house in Canonsburg PA with Maronda Homes! Excited
So my wife and I are building a house in Canonsburg Pa
with Maronda homes. I was wondering if anyone has built a Maronda home and their
thoughts about their home. We decided to go with Maronda Homes because we could
get a modern updated house at a fair price. I was wondering about the
interim tax that you have to pay. How does that work? Also would
you recommend getting a home inspection even after the final walk thru?
We also need to find someone to put in our side-walk. Maronda gives you a
credit so you can find a contractor to build your sidewalk. Any
recommendations to have a side-walk put in and how much that usually
costs?
Re: Building a house in Canonsburg PA with Maronda Homes! Excited
Congrats! My old townhouse was a Maronda and I loved the layout and space. They don't use top notch materials everywhere but that helps make their houses more affordable. My townhouse was built in 1996 and I think I was the second owner. I lived there until 2013 without any major issues.
I don't know what options you have for additions but when DH and I built our current house we did a couple of things to make it more energy efficient: 1. added extra insulation that was sprayed in and 2. got a tankless hot water heater. The hot water heater is good but I think the jury is out on weather it is really that much better than a regular. The extra insulation however made a noticiable difference. During the super cold days our house didn't seem to struggle to keep warm.
