WIJFR: Sous Chef: 24 Hours on the Line *NS*
I just finished Sous Chef by Michael Gibney that I got as an ARC and I really liked it! I know a lot of people on here love memoirs and this combines two of my favorite things: memoirs and books about food. It's a different approach because it's in 2nd person and it's a "day in the life" type book. That part really sets it apart and kept me very interested.
A lot of the cooking memoirs I've read do a lot of name dropping or location dropping but this doesn't really do this at all. It gives a good perspective on the daily routine of a Sous Chef rather than just the "chef" or a "line cook".
It's an extremely quick read and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good food memoir!
