Knock on wood...

We have another contract on our house. We've had it for a little more than a week, but I was waiting for the inspection to be completed. The first contract ended before the inspection. So we got the results last night, only have to replace our water heater and two window panes. We knew about the window panes so the only surprise was the water heater. At least to me, apparently P wasn't surprised by this. Bright side, close will be on the 28th so no more mortgage payments. Dark side, we are going to spend way more than our monthly mortgage payment replacing the water heater. FML!!!!! So fingers crossed nothing else comes up and we can close on the 28th.

  • At least you can close though! Look at it that way! Congrats.

BTW- when I read the title of the post, I searched out some wood on the room to knock on it. I'm very superstitious about that.

You must have a really cheap mortgage payment.  Last time I quoted to have a water heater replaced, it was only about $1000....

Well I was basing my statement off of P's freak out of how "expensive" it was going to be. Yeah he got quotes and it's going to be about $1000 for the water heater. Our mortgage payment was right about $800. But add the windows that need fixed and it's about 1 & 1/2 mortgage payments. So not as bad as P's freak out led me to believe.

    What's wrong with the windows?

THe seal is broken on two of the window panes so there's humidity inside them. We actually replaced three of them before putting the house on the market. They were in the living room. At the times didn't realize that one of the panes in Lily's room and in P's office were like that too. Our realtor pointed it out. So we knew we were going to have to fix those. I wanted to do it right away but P said we should wait. I think he was hoping that whoever bought it might not care???? As a home buyer I would care. This selling a housething has been very stressful between us.

Can't say I blame him on that one.  Wasn't so much that I expected people wouldn't care.  More so hoped they wouldn't notice.....;)

This is what I would think. Yes, it would matter to us, but to others it might not.
