What the worst part of your H's job?

Re: qod 3/15

  • The inconsistency of it. He works in construction so they may not have work for weeks. And some times he may only work 10 hours a week. We have some months where we are big ballin so we say and other months that are super tight. We make sure my paycheck can pay our bills just in case.

His job doesn't offer health insurance. Not a huge deal at the moment because I have a pretty good plan through my company. But if I ever decide to go part-time or switch to a job with bad coverage, then it would become more of a problem. He also gets very little vacation time and it's difficult for him to take time off in the summer because it's their busiest time

  • everything?  Who ever told you marrying a chef would be fun?! The hours suck, the pay is even worst, the benefits are awful...have no idea why anyone would want this job. Most jobs he been treated like a slave. He went to Johnson & Wales one of the best culinary schools in the world and doesnt get anything out of it. *end rant*

  • H is an automotive tech is always dirty which he is OK with but doesn't have to clean... I do. He hates it because and the managers, well management in general, sucks. They play favorites and are always yelling at them to do more. Well, they can't sell to someone who doesn't have money to pay for the work.

  • Lack of health insurance for sure...and the fact that it's a "demand based" trade which means no matter who he is working for there's always a chance of being laid off or underemployed. He is only working 4 days a week right now which is going to make it really tight financially when I go off
  • It's super dangerous. He is working with high voltage electricity all day and sometimes I really get nervous about it. It can also be very inconsistent and that stresses me out.

  • Just that he has to leave for work at 4am but he's home by 2pm. He really likes what he does, the pay is nice and he doesn't work weekends.

  • He works super crazy hours which is partially him wanting to do a good job and partially that's what's needed for a good job. Also, that he's salary now.
