TTC Check-in!

I'm going to post this early and run, but I'll be back later. I figured I wanted to get this up and running before my day gets away from me!
Happy Almost Friday!!

How many months/cycles have you been TTC?

Where are you in your cycle?

ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)?

Have you done anything different or plan to?

Any goods or bad?

Thoughts, questions, concerns?

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it?

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?

Re: TTC Check-in!

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 11/11

Where are you in your cycle? 7DPO

ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)? Not until next Wednesday

Have you done anything different or plan to? We both started taking Maca Root yesterday and DH is making some other lifestyle changes. Hopefully it will help. If not then off for testing in May.

Any goods or bad? NPR - Im a so tired of the back and forth of selling this house. Inspections pushed all over because of weather, stupid things coming up to fix, no definate settlement date. Its causing serious anxiety. Especially when DH is starting  a new job the week of supposed settlement.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns? Nope

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it? Probobly my heirloom ring my mom had made for my 30th birthday. It has the diamond from the engagement ring my dad gave my mom, 2 sapphires from a ring my mom brought me back from my favorite place in the world, Aruba, and 2 diamonds from earrings my dad gave me for my 16th birthday before he died. They were all set in yellow gold and she had them reset into a white gold ring so I can wear them again. I could picture my life without it but it would make me very sad. Those are the most sentimental things I have from my dad.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on? My positive nature and ability to deal with situations and move on without major long lasting effects. I hope to not pass on my psoriosis. Especially not to a daughter. It has been by far one of the hardest things to deal with ever. The stares, comments, and general discomfort is terrible to deal with as a woman. Summer is a very unforgiving time of year for my skin.
  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? still on the 7th cycle!

Where are you in your cycle? 7DPO--FF changed my CH's this morning....

ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)? I'm going to try and wait til 14DPO. TRY.

Have you done anything different or plan to? Nope

Any goods or bad? Nah not really. Just more of the same.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns? Nope.

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it? Probably my car. Next month I'll have had it for 6 years. It was my first real grown up purchase that I made when I graduated from college. I always wanted this model of car, too (well, since it came out. lol) and as soon as I got a job, I bought myself one. She's a great car in all weather and I wouldn't know what I'd do without her. I really don't live near any public transport so I really do need her to get to work, the store, etc. I will be legitimately sad when the day comes and I have to trade her in.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on? I want my kids to know how to sew and cook, clean, and know the value of things and hard work. I also would like them to appreciate the arts and maybe inherit some sort of musical ability from us. Right now I am actively trying to change the way I talk to myself and the way we (H&I) eat as a family because I do NOT want to pass on my body issues to my kids. There is nothing I would hate more than to project my self consciousness onto them.

  • @mrs.skiz, your ring sounds absolutely gorgeous. What a wonderful keepsake to have. <3 I wish I had something sentimental, lol.

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 9 months

Where are you in your cycle? CD16, waiting to O

ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)? I only have 5 OPKs left, so I may just pee on them starting tomorrow for fun.

Have you done anything different or plan to?  No

Any goods or bad? We listed our house for sale this week and now I am having second thoughts/cold feet.  We haven't found anything else, and now that all our work is done we are enjoying just living in our place...I guess we'll see if any offers come in and go from there.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns? Not really

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it? My wedding band.  5 yrs.  I could live without it (but wouldn't want to) as long as I have my family and doggie safe and sound.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on? DH and I both came from low income families and were exposed to a lot of diversity.  We had to be scrappy to get to where we are today, and I'm afraid that our kids will have it too comfy and easy.  I'm tempted to move to a more urban neighborhood in order to ensure our kids are exposed to people from all walks of life and appreciate what they have been given. On the other hand, we want the best for our kids including schools and opportunities...finding the right balance will be a challenge.

How many months/cycles have you been TTC?
    Cycle 5

Where are you in your cycle?
    CD67

    ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)?
I need to buy more IC for both, so no

Have you done anything different or plan to?
I should probably start temping again...

    Any goods or bad?
I generally feel less sad and defeated except when I'm in the children's section at work (library).  That's a good. ;)

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it?
Probably my computer.  Not that I'm so attached to this computer in particular, but having one is pretty much a necessity for me!

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?

I would love to pass on my love of music and reading to my kids.  I definitely do not want to pass on any kind of depression or anxiety that I deal with... honestly, my fear of doing has in the past made me want to skip TTC altogether and just go with adoption.

    CD27

    Any plans for testing (OPK/PG)?
    Nope

Have you done anything different or plan to?
Be better about temping this next cycle.

    Any goods or bad?
Bad: This cycle has sucked and I am ready for it to be over.
Good: We are doing family pictures with DH's family this weekend.

     Thoughts, questions, concerns?
    Nope

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it?
    Wait....does my DH count? ;)

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?

I would love for my children to have my love of reading and inquisitive nature. I would also like for them to have my DH's friendly and confident disposition.

I am really hoping that our children don't get any of our health issues (PCOS from me and Type 1 diabetes from him.)

  • Hi Ladies!  I hope you don't mind if I join.  It's our first TTC cycle so I'm still a newbie.

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 1/1

Where are you in your cycle? CD11

Any plans for testing (OPK/PG)? Only if AF is late.  I don't have high hopes for the first cycle though we have ramped up BD quite a bit.

Have you done anything different or plan to? It's our first TTC cycle so I'd say we're doing things much differently than in prior cycles.

Any goods or bad?  We are both noticing how much this process makes us feel reconnected and in love.

Thoughts, questions, concerns?  Just trying to find my place on the board.  Hoping I don't do anything to annoy anyone or make them hate me. :-/  Please give me a heads up if I'm annoying you or doing something wrong.  I'm very new to this. :)

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it?  I was hoping to get a piece of my grandmother's jewelry when she passed away so I could wear it every day and remember her, however my aunt is a biotch so that's a whole 'nother story.  I do however have the last birthday card she gave me and I will probably hold on to it forever.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?

Hoping to pass on - love of music (me) and sports (DH), speaking Portuguese (DH all the way - I barely speak any)

Hoping not to pass on - anxiety (me) and if we have a girl, I hope she doesn't get DH's hair gene...it's everywhere around this house, I swear!

@simsk3887 GL with your first cycle ttc! It sounds like you're taking a great approach to it! And I feel ya with your thoughts on finding your place; I've been hanging out here for quite some time and still feel annoying LOL. you'll be just fine.
@arj14 stay out of the children's section!! ;) if only it were that easy to avoid, right? I'm glad you're feeling better; I know last week you were really in the dumps :(@oohsparkly13 GL with your H's family this weekend-- hope you get some good pictures!!
@lindsayandjamie, I love your answer to the CBHQ. I feel like I could have written that myself :) I foresee finding that balance to be a challenge with us as we'll.
ETA: formatting. I keep forgetting the iPad hates paragraphs.
  • Girls don't be afraid to ask questions or feel annoying!  That is what this board is intended to be about.  It isn't just for people who have trouble or bumps in the road, and you have all been posting and getting to know people so it isn't as if you are random drive bys or lurkers.  When the board is dead, that is the perfect time to ask whatever is on your mind.  People will be happy to jump in and answer.

Or if you feel nervous, post it on this thread and lots of people lurk it or like me, have had a lot of experience charting.  This board is a safe place, even if there can be occasional snark.  It is certainly never directed at honest TTC questions from newer TTCers.

I was just talking to DH this morning about the upcoming pictures and he told me his mom rescheduled but he forgot to tell me. I asked him when she rescheduled to and he doesn't remember the new date so I have to text his mom now to find out when the new date is. Oh well, lol.

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 5/3

Where are you in your cycle? Cd 39/15 dpo though I'm pretty sure it'll turn into Cd 1 today or tomorrow

ANy plans for testing (OPK/PG)? Probably not unless cd 1 doesn't appear today or if my temp doesn't drop below my cover line tomorrow. I only have a digital test left so don't want to waste it. I need to run to target since first response tests are on cartwheel for 5% off.

Have you done anything different or plan to?
This cycle I started using OPKs.

Any goods or bad? Good: I actually have plans this weekend. We're coming into town and going to the parade and most likely hitting up a block party that one of the bars puts on.
Bad: I don't know why but this cycle really messed with my emotions. I think I put too much hope into it when the previous cycles I was being more logical about the experience. I was having bfp dreams so that certainly didn't help my mindset. I've been better about it the last few days and just remind myself that everyone goes through this on this journey. I just didn't expect the emotional roller coaster this soon since I went into TTC knowing this was going to take awhile.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it?
My agate ring that my grandpa made when I was really little, along with a cross my grandma gave me for my 16th birthday. I would be so heartbroken to not have them since both have passed plus I was super close to my grandfather.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?
The love of the outdoors, wildlife, animals, and reading.
Not want to pass on: hoping they don't have the mild anxiety I get and hope they are more outgoing in new social situations. I am such an observer in new situations, especially meeting new people, that I may miss out on things and experiences.

  • I'm new here and this is our first month TTC - Glad I'm not the only newbie - I was nervous to post until I saw your responses to @simsk3887. Thanks for being braver than me. <3 I look forward to being able to share this experience with you ladies :)

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? This upcoming month is our first because we missed my O-date last month

Where are you in your cycle? 1-3 Days until AF but I'm unsure if my timeline is accurate due to IUD Removal

Any plans for testing (OPK/PG)? We're going to try not to monitor for a few months and see where it gets us.

Have you done anything different or plan to? Going from not trying, to trying :)

Any goods or bad? So far, it's been great. DH and I are so excited to start the process and I think it made our marriage feel even better.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? So I have a free tracker app, and it's okay but do you all recommend anything? I don't mind paying a few dollars on iTunes.

QOTD: What is the your favorite possession? How long have you had it? Could you imagine life without it? My favorite possessions are probably my college degrees. I am a First-Generation College Student and I worked my tail off to get where I am and to be as successful as I have been thusfar. I've had my BS since 2010 and my MS since 2011. I could live without the physical degrees but the experience is invaluable.

CBHQ: What are some things that you love that you hope to pass on to your child/children? What are some things you (or your H!) do that you hope to NOT pass on?

I hope we pass on our sense of humor, my sassiness, DH's kind heart and patience (I am NOT an easy woman to live with lol), our work ethic/drive

I hope we don't pass on my proneness to depression - I have battled with it since HS. The past few years, I've done really well though and I feel as though I'm in a good place with it. DH/Family help immensely. I also hope we don't pass on DH's forgetfulness - there's nothing medical related as far as the Doctor's could tell, but it's scary sometimes how many times I'll need to repeat a story or plans.

  • @starstruckxo, welcome to the board! It might be a good idea to post an introduction post on the board.
  • @starstruckxo Welcome!  A lot of ladies use fertilityfriend (FF) to track/chart, myself included.  There is a link in my siggy "ovulation chart' that will bring you to my home page and you can look and see if it's for you. The basic membership is free, and there is an app you can download that syncs.

  • @starstruckxo - I did my intro a few months back and I've been randomly posting on stuff here and there to kind of establish myself a little bit. Read everything you can here because this group of ladies is amazing and they have so much knowledge.  They are so strong and tons of fun as well!  Welcome to the craziness that is TTC!
