St. Paddy's Day Plans?

What are your plans for the weekend?  Is anyone doing anything celebratory?

We are heading up to listen to some live music in our matching green t-shirts with some family members.

Re: St. Paddy's Day Plans?

  • Every time St. Patrick's day rolls around, I feel like H and I are the only ones who just don't really care about it. I guess it probably doesn't help that I'm not Irish but H has some Irish in him. I just never really got the hype about wearing green and drinking heavily on whatever day the 17th generally fell on, which was usually a weekday during my college years. Not that that stopped and of my friends ;) Oh and neither of us are parade people so that never happens either. Honestly, we are probably "celebrating" it by having to buy a new car because ours just kicked the bucket :(

Way for me to make a non-MM post into a MM one. :P

  • We're off through Tuesday. I have no ties to St. Patrick's Day, but I still love the holiday. Purim starts tonight at sundown. Putting the two together, I imagine we will be pretty smashed. Since we are in East Lansing, we will be wearing green, even though it's not our alma mater.
  • I'm headed to a party tonight. I was excited to get the invite because I love to celebrate the day, but hate dealing with parade crowds (they are INSANE in MA) or expensive bar covers.
  • And, crap. I just went to check times on the evite and it was a daytime party. I feel like such a huge jerk. I just saw "Saturday" and "St. Patrick 's Day" and daytime never even occurred to me.
  • I'll just be ordering a reuben sandwich in all of its glory for lunch on Monday.  It's not friendly to my PCOS/Gluten Free diet, but I'm cheating for a day.

  • There's a big parade and festivities tomorrow but it's supposed to be pretty chilly (in the 20s) so we'll probably stay home since the kids won't last long.

Probably do a fun breakfast and maybe find a St. Patrick's Day related show on Netflix for the kids. Oh maybe a craft if I can find something easy on Pinterest.
