Plans: Not much planned for tonight. We have the usual errands to run this weekend, and I also need to get a gift for a bridal shower (that I am not looking forward to at all- long story). We're going to go buy some archery equipment too as a belated bday gift for my H. We'll also be going out to lunch or dinner with my BIL and his g/f at some point during the weekend.

Raves: I've decided I'd like to have a med-free birth and will be doing hypnobirthing. We just got the DVD and CD set and I'm excited to start practicing.

Rants: I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes a couple weeks ago and did not deal with the news well. I didn't have any risk factors so I was pretty shocked about it. My blood sugar  #s have been great so that's good news. But I'm constanly terrified that they'll get worse which would mean potentially putting me on insulin, which would likely lead to me being induced- something I want to avoid if at all possible.

  • WP: Going to dinner with my family tonight. and tomorrow there is a Saint Patrick's day parade in our town that im going to walk with my dance studio in, sunday just lounge

Raves: its friday and spring is slowly on its way

Rants: I hit a plateau with my weight loss and its driving me crazy!

  • Plans:  Hopefully going for a walk with my husband and Levi after work tonight.  Tomorrow Levi is getting his 3 month pictures taken, and then Levi and I will just relax until my husband gets home from helping my dad in the morning and afternoon.  We are planning on going  out to dinner tomorrow night.  Sunday- we will go to church, go grocery shopping, do laundry, relax, and probably go to our neighbor's house for popcorn in the evening.

Raves:  It is Friday and only 3 more weeks till I get to go to Florida.  Snow is slowly melting.

Rants:  Work is stressful as new evaluations keep on rolling in.  I feel like I don't have much time to breathe at work.  There was chaos this week with planning Levi's baptism on March 30th (thankfully it is all taken care of now).

@Mona8 -- I had gestational diabetes too, so I know everything you are going through.  I was able to control mine with diet, and I hope yours continues to stay controlled with diet.  I don't know your OBGYN's philosophy, but my OBGYN did not schedule to induce me until I was 40 weeks, since I controlled my numbers so well with diet.  I didn't even make it to my induction day, because Levi was born at 39 weeks, 4 days.  My baby was big, but healthy!  I hope you get the birth you want and that you don't have to be induced.  The bright side of gestational diabetes is that I barely gained any weight during my 3rd trimester, all of the weight I gained was baby.  I was down to my pre-pregnancy weight within a couple weeks of birth and am now 10 pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight.

  • Plans: Tonight we are having dinner with my parents. Tomorrow my dad and step mom are coming to town so they will come over for a while. Sunday my mom and I are going shopping.

Raves: I finally get to get out of the house some on Sun and do somethings I have been needing to do.

Rants: Since Ethan was born he has had tons of clothes and now he has almost none. He grew so fast so we have very little of the bigger sizes and now I'm like OMG I have to go shopping to find him more.

@Mona8: I was already on metformin before getting pregnant so that helped me not get GD but I was borderline the whole pregnancy and took several tests. The good part about GD is you get extra monitoring. The medicine will help control things along with a good diet. Stay away from fruits and high sugar items. Also walk it helped me a lot. I only gained 15lbs my whole pregnancy and didn't gain at all until the end of my 2nd trimester. Ethan measured ahead the whole time and even though he was 5 weeks early he was almost 7lbs which would have made him a big baby at term but not too big he was healthy. My dr never mentioned inducing because of it and I know GD women who have very normal births. Just discuss what you want with your doctors. I did have a csection but it had nothing to do with the medicine or GD issues it was for completely unrelated issues. Good luck!!
  • Plans: Working this weekend..tonight and Sunday and then I work next Friday and I am off.

Raves: It was beautiful and sunny all week which totally helped me mood and energy levels....its supposed to rain on the weekend but I'll be working anyways so I don't much care.

Rants: Just tired of being tired....other then normal late pregnancy symptoms I don't have much to complain about, life is going pretty good right now.

    @lemeisch @mancila60

Thanks girls! I'm dealing with it much better now that I've gotten over the initial surprise and adjustments. My Ob won't induce until my due date as long as it stays diet controlled. If I end up needing insulin (please not another needle! lol) then they won't let me go more than a week before my due date. I really don't want that to happen, so fingers crossed that I can keep it diet controlled. It's the fasting #s that I always worry about since there isn't much I can do to control them.

  • Rants: I can't stand 50+ year old women who handle their conflicts like their 15. The one woman in my office is driving me nuts, she basically had a temper tantrum yesterday cause she was mad at the boss and everyone heard about it, but when boss asked her what was wrong - she got told nothing. The good thing is boss is now finally figuring out what us other 2 assistants deal with on a regular basis.

Raves: it's Friday. I'm very happy for the weekend. As much as I dislike my one coworker, my other one is amazing. She's awesome and we keep each other sane.

Weekend plans: not much. Work around the house, it's supposed to be nice out, out for supper tonight with h. Hopefully sleep in a bit tomorrow. Nothing too exciting

  • I'm behind on posts so here's my weekend recap:
I ended up feeling sick Friday afternoon and left work early. I was supposed to leave for my brother's but just ended up going Saturday morning. I hung out with my brother and his fiancee all weekend and helped them with wedding stuff. Picked out invitations, my brother & his GMs suits, some of their song selection and went to their tasting today. It was a fun weekend!
