I'm having a grown-up moment.

AND I HATE IT!

I've been on the phone with my insurance company for over an hour, most of that time being on hold.  I'm trying to speak to a supervisor because the individual I've been conversing with is treating me like I'm some irate customer, which I have to admit I am becoming...but I didn't start out that way!

ARGH!!!

Re: I'm having a grown-up moment.

  • Seriously, guys, I'm thinking about calling Disney after this to ask a random question just to experience some stellar customer service.  They put me on hold and I'm like, "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"
  • Who is the company? We have Cigna and i have to say that i can only remember one bad person.I hate dealing with ignorant customer service reps. I usually get pissed right away.

  • We have Aetna.  I had had Blue Cross/Blue Shield my entire life (until this January) and never had a problem.

The whole issue boils down to the fact that someone is an idiot and processed two claims for me in H's name, so they were rejected.  "Well, your first names are very similar and you have the same birth date, so you must understand that this is a very confusing situation."  No, no I do not.

OMG...I can't believe that someone said that. I didn't realize that having a name start with the same first letter made them similar. That's like when the surgery center billed my insurance company for 2 eyes and when I called surgicenter to say I didn't have both eyes done, she asked if I was sure. Hmmm...I think I would of remembered.

    Did they finally fix it?

  • @janma529 - that is just stupid! Your names are not that similar and one of you is a girl and one is boy.

  • Ugh it took my mom a year to get our gyno bill settled. We went to the same place and went the same week... And they bills one of us twice (I was still on their insurance).

    Good luck!

Yes, but his name is JAMES and I'm JANET.  SO CONFUSING!  Never mind that he doesn't even go to my doctor, so they certainly did not file the claim in his name...

It's going to be reprocessed in my name...supposedly.  We'll see what happens in 7-10.

Yep a year, but I blame the doctor's office.

I also fought my xray and mri from my accident for 6 months. They kept saying my insurance wasn't going to cover it and I'd call the insurance and they said they never got a bill... I finally got them on 3 way to sort it out. Here then doctors were not sending it to the right address so my insurance wasn't getting it.

    I hate insurances

  • My ILs have Highmark supplemental insurance & they now require us to send their payments in two separate envelopes because they couldn't figure out how to apply one check to one account & the other to the other account. They canceled FIL's insurance at least once because they applied his payments to MIL's account.

We've been dealing with it since .... July? It FINALLY got straightened out (fingers crossed) on Saturday.

Sorry you're dealing with this. I loathe Aetna & M just got their insurance through his job. I'm kind of PO'd, but the insurance we had through me isn't going being offered in Delaware after April 1.
  • I have really good insurance through Highmark through work...and it's free for employee only. We put L on J's insurance because he was already carrying G and there was no increase to add an additional child. Great plan, until his insurance decides they can't play nice with Nemours and their contract ends on March 31 unless they figure something out. I can't risk L not being able to go to AI for things, especially when he's already scheduled for a procedure there next month so I will now be adding him to mine on April 1. I'm going from no monthly premium and a $750 deductible to about $140 a month premium and a $2000 deductible...way to screw us United!

  • @uderin02 - isnt that annoying?! My co-worker was freaking out about that today because the same thing is happening to her. What is most annoying is that you'll probably do all of this work to switch L over to your insurance and then United and Nemours will make up a month later.

  • Oh no!  I had heard that families from other states might not be able to send their children to AI anymore because their insurance companies want them to use somewhere instate instead, but I never thought that would happen to someone living in DE!
  • @amcourt09 I'm sure that will happen. My changes are due on March 26. They have until a Match 31 to play nice. I figure if anything L will have double coverage and our out of pocket expenses won't be too bad.
