I hate selling a house...

I hate having to clean toilets/sinks/mirrors/kids rooms every day because people call a 9pm to set up a 9am appt. then a 1pm-2pm appt doesn't show until almost 1:50pm which means we sit in the car watching movies for an hour until almost 3pm. Then they call to say the clients are putting in an offer tonight and well, no word yet!

I just want an offer and accept so we can go about our daily lives. We've only been listed for a week and have had some potentials come through but man this whole field stinks....

If any one has house selling vibes, I'd appreciate them!

Re: I hate selling a house...

  • i hated selling more than i hated buying, which is tough to do because i HATE BUYING. though we weren't living in the house so we didn't have to deal with the showings. it was constantly traveling back home on the weekends to spend all of our time in the heat fixing whatever had to be done at the house that i hated.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • Yep, it sucks.  We had three offers on our house before one stuck, I was tracking how many showings we had and it was up over 30, though I don't recall the exact number.  Thankfully I could work from home and get the dogs out of the house. I turned into an OCD clean house person briefly because rushing to clean was too stressful. I once took a conference call in my car in front of the neighbors house so I could still be on my wifi and do my presentation to the managers on the call- with my dogs in the back seat.
Our buying experience was much less stressful.
  • I agree it sucks.  Especially with kids and pets involved.  We had 4 showing the day before we left for a week long vacation.  Trying to pack for vacation and keep the house clean was horrible.

Oh yeah, I remember. By week 3, I thought we weren't ever going to sell, despite all of the showings. With a dog, 3 kids at home with a Nanny... I was lucky I could work remote some days, so I would pack everyone into the car, take an early lunch break and drive to McDs for smoothies. My sitter loved it. lol Thankfully we got an offer in week 3! :)
