Former Pgh nestie (hi!!): what's fun in the area for toddlers?
Hi all!
Still recognise some faces here, hi everyone!
Was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a few places that are fun for toddlers. DH and I will be in pgh for a few days this summer to finally sort through our wedding gifts and ship stuff to Scotland. My dad and sister in law will mostly be looking after LO and I was wondering if there are any fantastic places to have in mind. Since LO has always lived in Scotland, she's not good in the heat so points for air conditioning! Here we take her to soft play a lot - basically an indoor playground with lots of soft things to climb on, does that exist at all or is it a uk thing? She'll be 18 months when we visit.
Thanks all

Childrens museum, or the zoo would be my top two choices for that age range. I am not familiar with any indoor playspaces, but my kid is 6 now and we just shove her out the front door to ride bikes with her friends as soon as the weather permits! So my familiarity with other places is low. I am sure your parents will be so excited to have a few days with their granddaughter!
We'll likely be staying at my dad's in Squirrel Hill but possibly at my SILs in the South Side but we'll have my dad's car as well. Just thinking I should have some 'rainy / super hot day thoughts as chasing a toddler around a not-baby proofed house is exhausting at best!

If you want a day trip to somewhere outside of Pittsburgh, I would suggest Idlewild Park for toddler age.
Hi Gila! Hope you are well! I think the Children's Museum will fit the bill and be enjoyable - pack an extra set of clothes as there is a water play area, and kids LOVE it and the raincoats are oversized and don't do much for protection. :P
Hope all is well in your neck of the world!
Fantastic to 'see' y'all as well though kind of shocking to see how big all the 'babies' are! And everything here is great - we just bought an apartment so are staying in Scotland for the long haul, we really do love it here.

My guy is 2 and he loves The Children's Museum. There is a lot to do for the little ones and she can burn off a ton of energy.
I remember you! I'm glad you're enjoying Scotland. I know I could move to Ireland to be near DH's family if only I could be sure I would have a job over there. I give you a lot of credit being there w/o family, though!
