Re: Book Club Monday

  • Still reading lover avenged, still good. But I have walking disaster to pick up at the library tonight. Idk if I'll start that now or wait until LA is done.

Listening to the husband's secret - Its really good! I had a few friends suggest it!

  • I'm still plowing through The Golem and the Jinni. It's really good, but moves very slow.

  • Ooooh I have the Husbands Secret on my wish list at the library. I might have to get that next.

Right now I am still listening to The Cuckoos Calling. I like it but if I was reading the book I am not sure how good it would be.

I finished LA Candy and Fahrenheit 451 this weekend. I didn't really like either one. I can't even believe that they make kids in high school read Fahrenheit 451. I even struggled to read it.

Now I am on to Tell the Wolves I'm Home and I like it so far.

  • Starting back up with a book I started in law school (who does that) and didn't ever finish (shocking).  It's historical non-fiction about the Salem witch trials, it's called In the Devil's Snare.

  • I finished The Day Jesus Rode Into Croydon yesterday - and by finish, I mean plowed through half the book on the train ride to and from NYC. It wasn't a terribly easy read - a lot of flashbacks and tiresome POV switches - but it had a really interesting plot that did not turn out at all the way I expected it to.

My next conquest will be "Hystera" by Leora Skolkin-Smith. I'm only a few pages in, but I have a feeling I'm going to love this one.

  • I FINALLY finished The Book Thief! Overall I'd say I enjoyed it.

I'm now reading The Husband's Secret! I started it Saturday morning and I'm almost 75% through! I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I like all of the connections. I'm excited that some of you are listening to/wanting to read it!

  • Attempting to get through a book called Life From Scratch. I've never heard of the book or author, but Amazon was nice enough to give me a free Kindle download of it. So I figured I'd try it out.
