I had a discussion with DH last night and we have decided that we are officially putting a hold on TTC for the rest of the year. I guess that technically puts us in the NTNP camp. Neither of us is happy about it but we agree it is probably for the best right now. I've been tracking my cycles and symptoms of AF since I got off BCP in August and the more I research and read, the more sure I have become that I am annovulatory. I haven't had the official blood work done to confirm it yet but multiple factors are leading me to believe ovulation just isn't happening.
I asked you guys yesterday about moving from an obgyn to an RE and it definitely made me realize that I will be wasting money if I start infetility treatment with my obgyn. I love her as my gyno and she is very well informed about PCOS but moving forward with getting pregnant is going to have to be with an RE. Unfortunately, the nearest RE is over an hour away and getting to appointments there just wouldn't be possible with my work schedule.
We've been talking about moving for a fews years now and just decided a few months ago that we will be moving around the beginning of next year. We will be moving to a much larger city. I've done a few quick web searches and have discovered multiple RE options in that area. Once we move, I will make an appointment with an RE to get further testing done. I was originally going to request an HSG and pelvic u/s from my current obgyn in May when I go see her but now I am just going to talk to her about my PCOS and my continuing treatment with that. I'm going to spend the rest of this year really focusing on my weight loss. Who knows...maybe my body will decide to get its shit together once I lose weight. I'm not counting on it but it's always a possibility, I guess.
Not gonna lie though...I cried after our decision last night. It was an ugly cry too. I think it was partly because of our decision but also just frustration with my body and its inability to do what should come naturally. I've known since I was a teen that my cycles weren't normal so it wasn't a surprise when my cycles didn't regulate off BCP. I actually thought that it would be easier to deal with disapointment in TTC since I was going in knowing I had issues...but it's been really hard, regardless.
So yeah, that's where I am now.
P.S.- I ordered a bunch of Wondfo pregnancy tests a few months back and I won't be using them now so they are up for grabs if anyone wants them. I can't remember exactly how many I have but I think it's at least a couple dozen. They expire in January, if I remember correctly. If anyone shows any interest, I can update with the exact number later today when I get home.
