QOTD 3/27

Speaking of spring cleaning...do you do a spring cleaning? Do you have anything planned for this year?

Re: QOTD 3/27

  • We have a walkin attic space off of one of our bedrooms. Since we moved in we have been just putting things in there haphazardly. I want to rearrange everything in there and move some things to the actual attic which needs to be vacuumed since it looks like the previous owners had mice living up there.

  • I do, and I hate it.  I hate cleaning in general.  Plus I am allergic to everything so I sneeze constantly.

  • I feel like we had a Winter Cleaning this year. When we were moving, instead of just packing our stuff up, we went through everything and got rid of stuff we don't use / didn't want.

We still have a few boxes to unpack here, so that will be our Spring Cleaning.

  • The barn is almost done.  My house needs it so badly!  I usually make sure all my appliances and under them get a good cleaning in the spring.  Maybe once it feels like spring I'll get motivated.  The weekend we're supposed to hit 50!!  Whoop whoop!
  • I always plan to. Then, it rarely happens. Or I start and do some and then do something else.

  • We've been renovating our house for the last two years so we haven't really had time to spring clean.  But once we are done renovating, we'll definitely go through and clean out whatever we don't need/want.  Hopefully it won't take too long.

  • I want to. I have a nice list of things I want done this spring! Everything needs a deep cleaning due to my laziness this winter. But I'd also like to:

Rent carpet cleaner and do all the downstairs, upstairs hallway and our bedroom

Rechalk the baseboard going up the stairs, and hit a few spots on the hallway with paint.

Paint nursery. If I can con H, also the powder room and the front room.

Build a table in the laundry room to fold on.

  • I do a deep cleaning every 4 months or so.  It's not because I like to clean.  I get so lazy that everything needs to be really cleaned.

We're moving probably in June.  I plan to throw things away as someone else is packing for me.  I don't know who that someone else will be though.
  • Yep and we need to soon. No new projects, just good scrubbing

  • I don't really do a deep cleaning because I clean pretty thoroughly all year (oh, the perks of being unemployed...).  We have lived in our house for about 1.5 years so we don't have a lot of clutter to go through.

We prefer to make project lists for spring and summer instead of cleaning lists...so far we have

    • create backyard patio where old pool was
    • paint living room, hallway and area leading to bsement
    • raise grade of driveway and close off garage
    • stain front deck
    • seal wood siding

  • We need to. As soon as the dog is gone, I will wash all the walls and steam clean all the furniture before the baby gets here.

  • With this being our first year in the house, we don't have a lot of going through to do. We're more working on getting the house fixed up the way we want it. Last weekend we planted some azalea bushes out front, pressure washed the outside of all the windows and gutters, and pressure washed the stairs leading up to the house (I didn't realize they weren't supposed to be that color o.O). We've got a few other landscaping things to do, but they'll happen as they happen. We keep the house fairly clean and do a really good scrubbing every other week usually.
