Investing Question

As I'm recovering this week from my surgery on Tuesday I have some downtime and really need to start reinvesting more of my cash that I have in my portfolio. If you had money to invest what stocks/funds would you put it into?  Any good companies out there?  All these pain meds are making me tired and blah feeling so I'm hoping to be mentally up to this tomorrow.

Re: Investing Question

  • I didn't realize you'd had your surgery. Hope it went well and you're on the mend!

That's a tough/personal question, but I'll tell you how I decided. I figured out I have a pretty high risk tolerance, so I'm all in stock mutual funds. I have three Fidelity funds, one conservative domestic (my biggest holding), one riskier domestic, and one international "growth." All had five stars from Morningstar at the time I bought them.

I also took the advice "invest in what you know," and bought a water resources sector fund that Fidelity offers no load, no fee. I work with the drinking water industry, and can't see how clean water technology won't be a big deal over the next few decades. This fund is my "favorite" and it's doing the best so far.
  • I don't much about investing but I just wanted to say  hope you are feeling better!
  • I go with companies I know and believe are doing well also.  I may start looking into more mutual funds this time.

I'm doing better as long as I stay on top of my meds.  I'm not use to taking so much medicine it makes me tired.  I'm also not use to staying off my fee much so my back is starting to hurt.

Apparently when I was coming out of sleep I told the RN it was the last bit of pregnancy left I had to deal with and the only way to stop it from coming back is to stop having kids. LOL.  DH is working all day tomorrow and I dread it!  Taking care of a 3 year old while recovering it a bit challenging.
