S/o what's on your Aldi shopping list?

Stopping for first time tomorrow...what's on your Aldi shopping list?

Re: S/o what's on your Aldi shopping list?

  • Always produce, eggs, and canned staples (soups, beans, etc). I picked up the simply nature fruit snacks today and we just had the simply nature pizzas. I wasn't hungry, but Tim says he preferred the Aldi make your own pizza kit ones to those.

Produce, organic tomato sauce, eggs, and tortillas.
  • Fruit snacks, mandarin orange cups, coffee, bread, milk (which is around $2.19/gal at the Aldi's down here), eggs, tortillas, bananas.... those are the staples I get there.

Oh and diapers run about $4.49 a pack and baby wipes .89c.

Clare - milk is $2.19 a gallon?!?! I'm sooo envious. My kids go through milk like mad, enough to make me want to sneak across my back land to the dairy farm and milk some cows! :)

Kristin - we're big fans of the produce as well.  We also stock up on pizza, salsa, almonds (super cheap) and organic pumpkin flax cereal ($2.99 there vs Giant Eagle $4.19) and bread. Remember  - take bags and it's cash or debit (no charges)

  • I get as much as possible there. Bread, cereal, cheese (love the dill havarti), produce (SO cheap), egg whites, yogurt for the kiddo, canned foods, pasta, frozen waffles, spices, etc. Most of the time my staples are always in stock. I like trying their specials/new items but a lot of times those seem to be the ones that go quickly.
  • Produce, produce, produce!  Fruits, veggies, potatoes, onions, etc.

I also buy their bread (no HFCS), eggs, milk, shredded cheeses, some snacks (pretzels, the simply nature fruit strips, etc), canned goods, frozen veggies, taco shells

  • Great question! I am eager to get there!
  • The main reason I started going there was for the produce.  You can't beat the prices and some of it is organic!  I also buy the whole wheat bread, sandwich thins, simply nature fruit snacks, lemonade, organic chicken broth, grass fed ground beef.   I like to try most of the simply nature products.  I also buy wedges of parmesan cheese.  Some times when dh is out of town I get the take and bake pizza for me and the girls.  I think it's kind of bland but the girls love it.

  • Sugar - I get a 4-lb bag for $1.49, I think it is (the cheapest I can find elsewhere is $1.99).

Beth - yes, and to think I was upset when I bought two gallons last week at that price bc, 2 weeks earlier, it was $1.69! Eggs were .79c that week too - people were walking out with 60 doz in their carts - no joke. I guess they don't put a limit on how much you can buy down here.

I think the cheaper milk has to have something to do with the tax, I think. The Aldi's is not far from me, but I wish it was as close as the grocery store, bc I would be there much more often! Last week was the first I bought 2 gallons at one time, to stay stocked, and I'll be out by lunch tihis afternoon. lol
