NBR: Fix my cheesecake

I made a cheesecake for my Dad's birthday this weekend.  I'm nearly 100% positive that the inside of my cheesecake is cooked properly, but the very top of the cake is a little darker than the "toasted" look I was going for.  I'm trying to save my pride by covering it with something.  It will have strawberries to go with it, but I was hoping for something more like a sour cream topping that I could spread over it first.  However, Google keeps bringing up ones that need to be baked with the cheesecake and it's too late for that.

Any ideas? It's a New York style cheesecake.  My family would still eat it with out much teasing, but I'm trying to save my pride here!

Could you justmake a strawberry glaze and use it and the berries on top?
  • Or you could spread raspberry jam over the top of the cheesecake and drizzle with white chocolate and garnish with mint leaves.

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • Or you could make a peanut butter glaze and then drizzle with chocolate and garnish with nuts and pretzel pieces and Reeses Pieces.

  • Soak some banana slices in rum and layer them around the cheesecake and then drizzle with caramel.

  • Fantastic suggestions! I think I might try the caramel or a thick strawberry sauce.  The one I have seems a bit thin and very easy to see through.

  • I've made one that called for a chocolate ganache on top.  Just melt 1/4 pound semisweet chocolate with 1/4 c. heavy cream then pour and spread on top.
