Wasn't it you who watched all of Secret Life? I finally finished watching the series and I was wondering what you thought about it.
my read shelf:
Re: @Heidi
I missed a couple seasons in the middle, but yeah I watched the bulk of it. I liked and didn't like that her and Ricky didn't end up together. I think it was realistic that they wouldn't have worked out, and a good message to teens in that situation, "You don't have to stay with someone because you had a baby together."
I think they could have done the last episode better, but I was angry about it.
The one thing that bothered me is, if this was supposed to be a show about teaching kids about safe sex, why did they not get STDs? I don't think it's as common for kids to get pregnant as it is to get an STD, just sayin.
What were your thoughts?
I hated the ending. I was very surprised that she left her son to go to college on the other side of the country!!! I don't think that I could do that. I understand that she wanted to go to college but they made it seem like a pretty easy decision to give him up. Most of the time she wa just a whiny bitch.
Oh and they made it seem like teen marriage is a good thing. If you love each other just get married. I mean rally how many people were either pretend married, actually married or engaged?!
Summay: the whole thing was like watching a train wreck and I will slap my kids silly if they act like any of those kids on that show.
OMG it drove me insane that all these teens were getting engaged and "falling in love." That is not realistic at all.
Yes, I was super angry that she left her kid and went halfway across the country, it's been so long since I watched it I guess I forgot she even did it. How could anyone do that, and how could her parents support a decision like that? It's like Farrah on Teen Mom. Did you watch that show?
Seriously go see the Divergent movie her acting is soooooo much better. It's hard to believe they are the same person!
The show was a total train wreck but I had to know how it ended. It was like a teenage soap opera except no one got murdered. When Jack went in the coma I actually laughed because it only happens in bad tv shows. I felt like watching that show was my secret life!
The acting was awful and the stories were even worse. How could all of those children be sleeping together and no one caught anything. And where are everyone's parents since most of them didn't work?
The "I love you, we can get married" thing got really old after Ben and Amy had their fake wedding.
I couldn't stand Grace and her hypocritical attitude either. It really bothered me the way she held sex over Jack's head. She wasn't that great, most guys would have gone elsewhere.
And Jack's Christmas miracle was him trying to leave the show. They were renegotiating his contract. They should have sent him away to look at other college options or something, rather than save a teenage prostitute who was then adopted by Leo. That adoption was even more out there.
When Ben and Adrian got divorced, Leo just let her keep the condo. Really? Who is that generous?
H used to make fun of me for watching it. I still loved it and just got hooked in the story.
Oh, and in the last season, when Adrian's boyfriend (I can't even remember his name) got the deal for the teaching videos and was going to get her that huge apartment in NYC, yeah, not realistic at all.
