Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month)

Any testing in the upcoming week?

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not)

Any FFC's/AW's/UO's?

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day?

Re: TTC Check in!

  • Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month) Cycle 8, CD 7

Any testing in the upcoming week? I'll start OPK's late next week probably... just for shits and giggles, mostly. Having my annual appointment right in the middle of my suspected FW kind of throws a monkey wrench into the mix. :shrugs:

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not) Umm, well H is pretty much a big deal at his work. He was recognized by the regional office as being a high performer, so hopefully (sooner rather than later!) this translates into a promotion for him! He works so hard and I'm glad he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Any FFC's/AW's/UO's? H and I went on a spending bender last weekend and bought new lamps for our living room/second bedroom and a new leather sectional. LOL. We went to the furniture place "just to look around" and walked out with a new couch. I think next time we're both off, we better just stay the heck home. LOL

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day? The time after work before bed. So like 5pm-10pm. I wish I could switch those 5 hours for the 10 I spend at work every day. :sigh:

Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month) This is officially our first cycle - AF is gone so CD 7 now.

Any testing in the upcoming week?
I think that I'll start with the OPK on 4/1. Any recommendations? I'm thinking Clear Blue Digital.

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not)
TTC - It's officially our first cycle TTC so I'm excited and nervous! Plus, I really just wanted AF to go away ;)
Not TTC - (Back story: DH got a job offer to be a 2nd man/business partner in his best friend's company - a carpentry and woodworking company - because the 1 man business was not able to take on a good amount of high-paying work because it was only him.) So this is what DH is doing and they are officially booked SOLID until September with great high-paying and reputation building jobs. The business is really taking off.
Also, My boss paid me great compliments during our check-in meeting today that I've done a great job hitting the ground running since I've got here and I've fallen right into place. Considering this was a significant career change (same field, completely new role), it meant a lot to hear that she thinks I'm doing well.

Any FFC's/AW's/UO's? My AW is my Not-TTC news. What's FFC and UO?

[[Edit: Because I know what FFC and UO are now!]]
FFC - I was raised catholic and I want to raise my kids catholic (DH was raised baptist albeit non-practicing and now identifies as atheist) - I get total joy out of knowing that is going to PISS OFF my ILs.
UO - I don't think that college education is right for everyone especially in this market. I would encourage kids to look into marketable trades and go to a Vocational High School. This is a UO because I work in the higher education field.

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day? I would say 6-11pm. Once I'm home and have dinner started, I can just relax and hang with DH. I also am a TV junkie, and all of my shows are on then.
    Married - 12/14/13
TTA until June - then it's on :)
  • @ starstruckxo -- FFC is a flame free confession, and a UO is an unpopular opinion.

Good for you H; that's a big deal! Congrats! And I like the clear blue opks just fine, they just get pricey after a while. Fx you won't have to use them for long! ;) a lot of us use cheapies from amazon (wondfo brand). But sometimes the lines can be hard to judge... That's where the digital ":)" vs "0" comes in handy lol
  • @callitcompulsive - Thank you! I'll probably look into wondfo down the road. Do you (and others) think CD12 is a good day to start the OPK?
    Married - 12/14/13
TTA until June - then it's on :)
  • It's really a shot in the dark since this is your first cycle, but I think that's a good time to start. :) Good luck!
  • Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month): 1/1

Any testing in the upcoming week?
Bought a FRER for tomorrow morning (12dpo).  I'm guessing it will be BFN so I'll try again on Sunday when AF is due, if she doesn't show.

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not)
My life is a freaking disaster right now.  My job has become a joke as I've taken over a ton of stuff that other project managers were supposed to do but didn't.  I was told to be more like those PMs and that their work is perfect...except it's a DISASTER.  On top of that was a meeting with my boss who told me that I expect too much from people, to which I asked how it's too much to ask someone to do their job and she continued with 'we can't expect that from everyone' but refuses to fire anyone.  Mind blowing.

Throw in H and I losing our first home yesterday which we were supposed to close on next Thursday. Something about a second appraisal that we didn't know about came back under selling price and the seller not wanting to budge.  I give up!

    Any FFC's/AW's/UO's?
FFC - I'm testing tomorrow when DH isn't home so he doesn't think I'm crazy for testing on our first cycle.

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day? I know it's crazy but 7-8a on my drive to work.  With the time change, the sun is rising on my way in and it's just me time.  Quiet me time.  I don't have my brain filled with the million things going on from work and I can just listen to the radio and relax a little.
  • Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month) 4/5

Any testing in the upcoming week? Nope though may do some OPKs

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not) DH and I had fun driving around earlier this week looking at houses (drive-bys only) and figured out why some of the ones with more acreage were cheaper than others. The reason was that they were on extremely rutted gravel roads that were only one car wide that were a bit of a pain to drive on in the pickup.

    Any FFC's/AW's/UO's? Nope

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day?
Even though I hate waking up early, mornings are my favorite time of the day. It is just so peaceful early in the morning.

  • @simsk3887 -- I'm sorry work is crazy. It's amazing how incompetence is not punished in the workplace. Except when YOU'RE the one slacking off. Also bummer on the house :( GL testing this weekend!! @stephkf -- that sounds like fun (driving around looking at houses!) but those roads would be a deal breaker for sure. I haaaate gravel roads. Ugh!
  • Cycle 5, CD13

    No Testing this month.

Good/Bad: I've moved up to solid food after being super sick with a stomach bug all week. I'm not quite back to normal, but I am starting to fantasize about the "real" foods I can eat. I am sick of people (sister, parents, friends, hubby) asking me if I am preggers b/c of it.

FFC: Ready to give up on the job hunt for a bit. Sick of applying and not getting any response.
(long side note: I hated my job so quit with hubby's full blessing a few months ago. I was sick of being criticized for having least amount of overtime for department for the quarter (I avg. only about 8-10hrs/ wk) and was told I wasn't a "team player" for not coming in on days off. To put it in to perspective I was at work for 10-13 hours/ day hour lunch incl., plus had an hour drive each way. I ran support groups, did team assessments, taught up-to-date process, policies, materials, assisted team members who couldn't figure out the correct way/policy/procedue, fielded phone calls when not at work by co-workers who needed assistance and did several training sessions on new material for company)

simsk-- Hang in there. I know it is tough not getting the recognition you deserve. I had co workers shopping and spending their time selling random products (ie thirty-one, weight-loss suppl., mary kay, etc.) then not knowing how to do their job.

Favorite time of day: anytime I can get some quiet time to sit and read uninterrupted. Recently it's been tough since my furbaby is "extra clingy and cuddly." If I try to read with her she bats or rams the kindle/book out of the way. I even have a bump on my forehead from where she headbutted the kindle into my head.
  • @sigmatam, I'm glad you're beginning to feel better! Ugh!!

@callitcompulsive - congrats to your DH!  Was this furniture place Target, by any chance? ;)

Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month)
    Cycle 6 (huzzah!) CD9

Any testing in the upcoming week?
Nope.  I need to buy more ICs.  Also, I really need to start temping again.

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not)
My grandmother passed away on Monday, so that's still hard of course.  I also hate my second job and reeeaaally want to quit, but I can't until I find something else. :(

    Any FFC's/AW's/UO's?
AW:  Yesterday and today I've been okay with no crying re: grandma or job. :)
FFC: My homework is late, but I really needed the time, so I don't feel guilty.

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day?
It's weird, I like mornings when I'm awake for them and it's sunny out, but I'm not really a morning person.

  • @arj14, no, it was a place called "the dump" ... It's a great big close out warehouse for furniture of all sorts. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma :( *hugs*
  • Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month) Cycle 3, CD25

Any testing in the upcoming week? Nope. TTA This cycle.

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not)  Spring has finally arrived! Hoping it sticks around. I was able to wean so I'm hoping that I start ovulating soon and my cycles get back to normal. Today is CD25 which is about as long as my previous cycles have lasted so fingers crossed that AF stays away a bit longer because I will take that as a good sign for TTC. I'm back to drinking caffeine and I love it! I feel so amazing after a cup of real coffee in the morning. With the coffee, mild temps, and warm sun I am feeling great today!

Any FFC's/AW's/UO's? Most of the time I'm not a fan of snark.

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day? I love when I wake up rested in the morning, but don't have to get up.

I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love.
  • Where are you at in your TTC Journey? (Cycle/Month) 12months/12 cycles

Any testing in the upcoming week? Oing in the next few days so OPKs

Anything good or bad going on? (TTC-related or not) Everything sucks right now. We just spent a shitton of money and time and energy fixing our "to fix" list from our buyers and its exhuasting. Plus replacing our septic system wasnt exactly something we wanted to do. One thing after another. If anything else comes up, I might lose it.

Any FFC's/AW's/UO's? Even though its been a year TTC, I will not go back to temping and charting unless my OB/GYN reccomends that I start again. My cycles are regular, I am using and getting positives every month on my OPK's. When I chart, I obsess and its not a good place for me to be right now.

QOTW: What is your favorite time of the day? 3-4:15. Its my drive home from work and the 30 minutes before my son gets home from school. The house is quiet and I can chill and read for a few minutes with my dog.

  • @callitcompulsive - Thank you! I'll probably look into wondfo down the road. Do you (and others) think CD12 is a good day to start the OPK?
    ***Popping In***
I start OPK's on CD10 because I can O anywhere from CD13-18. It all depends on your body but once you get the hang of your cycles you will know what is "too early." GL!
