First the news - I got a new job! Woohoo! It's not FB official yet because my boss hasn't made the official announcement at work, but it should be soon.
And the question - my new job is on the Northside. When I worked downtown, I always took the bus and I would like to take it some of the time to my new job. But with soccer practice, DH traveling for work and a higher level position, I'm going to have to drive sometimes. Although if I can only find a monthly lease then I'll drive most of the time.
So I need recs for Northside parking. Preferably a day by day fee or reasonable monthly lease. I'll be near the new Alcoa building, but I don't mind walking a bit.
Thanks!

congrats! I worked over there for too many years and had a lease at the General Robinson ALCO garage (caddy corner from PNC Park). Others in my office had leases in the open air lots or paid to park there daily. Check Allegheny Center as well. One problem you will run into without a lease is it is hard to get daily parking on days like today. Or if you can you may have to pay event rate. Go online and check out Alco's options, there are less & less over there with all the new bldgs going up.
Northshore is fun exc. trying to get in and out on day games (like today - leave early or late!). Eating is so so, Atrias, Soho get pretty tired. But the atmosphere is nice.
Good luck!!

I need to check lease prices (and availability) as well as current bus rates, since I haven't been a regular rider in almost 4 years. It might make more sense to drive and have a leased space.
Congratulations on the new position!
My three sons!
I don't have any advice on actually where to park, but I post stuff on PGH's City Data forum and they always have great "inside" advice on questions about the city. May be worth a shot?
