Re: QOTD 4/2

  • I always pick some shade of blue. I think that I have had pink maybe twice and green once. Before my dad got married to my current stepmom she made me get a pedicure to change it from green to something more traditional. I didn't mine since she was paying. Lol!!

An organgey-red, like tomato red.  It looks good with my skin tone and even better with a tan.  That or a blush/nude.

  • Ditto @ystaalenburg! If I'm doing it myself, I usually go with a shade of bright pink, but if I actually get to go out and have it done, it is a french pedi all the way. And lets, be honest, at this point, I can't even reach my feet :|

  • I've never had a pedicure.  Painting nails is not something I'm very good at.  I usually rock it in the buff.  Sometimes I'll slap on a color, that looks like a 4 year old did it, usually blue.
  • I usually go for a red, but rarely keep up with them

  • I like to go with the seasons...dark colors (maroons, etc) for fall and winter, pastels for spring, and bright colors for summer.

That being said, I desperately need a DIY pedicure!

    I've never had a pedicure.

Sounds like I'm missing out!  I'm just really weird about people touching my feet.
  • I've only had a professional pedi once. I was 13 and they did it in navy blue with a black beach scene on it (little palm tree shadows and birds)

The last time I did them, I think I opted for a jade green color since it was an accent in the dress I wore to my brother in law's wedding.
I think the only reason I don't do them more often is because I hate being hunched over myself like that.

I'm contemplating getting one before I go on vacation in July. I'd probably get something in a pastel or pink.

  • I've also only had a professional one done once at my bachelorette party (my friends surprised me with a spa weekend!).

Oh, and I have a tip for whitening your nails if they become yellowed from nail polish remover!
Cover your nail in whitening toothpaste and let it sit for about 30 minutes.  Wash it off and repeat daily until your nails are no longer yellow.

  • I usually stick with pinks, reds, and purples but on occasions I will pick something random.
I went Monday for my first spring pedi and I went for a pinkish purple color.

  • I LOVE pedicures!  They are my absolute favorite thing in the world!!!!!  I am allergic to nail polish, so now I get no polish pedicures.  It's always funny explaining to the woman why I can't have polish if it's not my regular girl.

When I could wear polish, I would usually get a bright pink or neutral pink, depending on my mood.  At times I would use red.  I never went dark or funky colors because I don't like them on nails.  I liked my nails to look girly and bright.
  • Pedicures are one of my absolute favorite things in the whole world as well! I get them about every 2-3 months all year long. I will typically go for a color in the pinkish purple family and go lighter in spring / summer and darker in fall / winter. Occasionally I'll spring for the extra and get the French on my toes but I'd rather spend the extra $ and splurge on the spa pedi with longer massage!
  • I used to love getting pedicures, but my feet have gotten so incredibly sensitive that I can't handle it anymore! Now I usually just paint them myself, but I have gone and just gotten polish.

I love getting a french pedicure, but I don't do it often. I usually reserve my toes for fun colors. Right now they're black with these iridescent glitter flakes. I love a good turquoise on my toes. I also do red and nude-pinky-browns.

  • If I go get a pedicure it's usually in the pink/red family. If I'm doing it myself it's always either green or yellow. I currently can't see my feet so hoping to get a pedi reaaaaaal soon!
