Update on TTGP

I had my lap done this past Friday.  He found some endometriosis and removed that.  I have to have a follow-up appointment in a couple of weeks.  When I call and schedule my follow-up, I'm going to ask how much he found.  I didn't talk to him afterwards...only my husband and mom did.

  • I did fine with it. I've slept all weekend long, but I think that has more to the pain pills I've taken. The last thing I remember is the anesthesiologist telling one of the nurses to put a heated blanket over me...it was friggin freezing in that OR room! Then the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the room. I think we left the surgical center around 12:30, so not too bad.

  • That's good you had no real side effects. Anesthesia does make you chilly/ cold. And why do they keep the rooms themselves so cold? Doesn't help the patient.

Glad they found something? I don't know if that's weird to say. It's always nice to have an answer though. I had a lap done for possible endo and they didn't find anything. It was frustrating.

I hope you are recovering well!

Ugh, I noticed it my response didn't post!  My internet explorer at home HATES TheNest.

Anyways @quirky75 - I am kinda glad they found something.  I don't know too much about endo yet.  The only things I know, is that I have it for life, it grows back, it affects ability to get pregnant, and it's more common than I realized.  So, it was kinda "devasting" to realize that it's something I have for life.  I almost would have rathered him not find anything and then we could have jumped straight to treatments.  But it is nice to know we do have a chance at trying naturally.  Plus it decreases our chances of multiples if we do it on our own.

@athlete010688 - My mom has(had?) endo bad.  She was able to get pregnant with me in a decent amount of time, but didn't know about her endo at the time.  When she was trying for a second, it was taking her a while which was when they did the lap and it was pretty extensive.  They told her she had 3 months to get pg before it would start growing back - it worked the 3rd month, but then she miscarried.  Then a few years later she started trying again for a second, and it worked right away.  So you never know!

Have you thought any more about acupuncture?

I haven't...I need to look to see if our insurance covers anything for acupuncture.

  • My co-worker just wrote an article for Yahoo about her endo. I don't know if it'll help at all, she has a pretty extreme case, but I thought I would share: http://voices.yahoo.com/from-normal-anything-but-experience-endometriosis-12547986.html?cat=5
