I need a biography of George H. W. Bush.

Here's what I found:

His autobiography (not really what I want, am trying to avoid these? Not sure if it's possible for these last ones...) (Also, it's not really an autobiography, it's a collection of letters from him since he was 18. This is just not what I'm really looking for.)

My Father, My President, by his daughter. I would be fine with this but it is 31 dollars. What?

41: Inside the Presidency of George H W Bush- must be out of print? Is 71 dollars used

George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography- looks & sounds like something from a tabloid paper- the description says this, "Essential reading as long as this Anglo-American oligarchy directs American politics" Ummm, no.

The American Presidents Series biography of him- these are always my last resort during this challenge.

So... anyone see anything else out there that I'm just not seeing? I do want to own the physical book, so ebooks or library books aren't really what I'm looking for.

Two of those were on the list of ones that I had found.

The last one wasn't, I'll look into it. I'm more interested in full life biographies rather than ones that just focus on their presidency, but I'm finding with the more current presidents that a traditional biography may just not happen.

Yes, it's so crazy!!

I don't think that in my adult life I've taken on a challenge that lasted for more than a handful of weeks or months at the most. I've been reading bios since January 2011 and only have 4 more presidents to go! I know it is the nerdiest thing on earth to be excited about, but I think I'm more proud of myself for sticking with it.

I'm not sure about favorite, that's hard. Teddy Roosevelt was just so hardcore that it's hard not to love him. I liked Polk's "I have four things to do and I'm going to do them" attitude and wish politicians today had that. FDR is obviously amazing and with the exception of Lincoln and Washington probably had the most positive lasting impression on America as we know it.

I loved the biography that I read of Andrew Jackson and loved going on a tour of his house, but I'm not sure that I would call him my favorite, although he sticks out to me positively too, but I can't let him off the hook for the Native American situation.

My least favorite is a little easier. Reagan and Coolige have politics that just absolutely make my skin crawl. These were the two that I just wanted to throw across he room in a rage fit.

I will keep reading them as they come out for future presidents! There are a lot of side characters that I want to read that I met along the way, guys who have had a huge impact on our country but just didn't quite make it to president. I think I'll take a little break and then get started on that list

You will need to read Almost President by Scott Farris. It's about the presidential candidates who lost.
