Tell the Wolves I'm Home question (ns)

I have about 9-10 days left on my library ebook loan.  I'm also about 1/3 of the way in to The King and I think it will take me at least the weekend to finish it maybe longer.  My question is, how long did it take you to read TtWiH?  I don't want to have to get on the waiting list again as it took a month to get this one. Think I can read it in 5ish days?  Is it a quick read?

  • I wouldn't really say it is a "quick read". You could technically read it in 5 days, I think. But it is a quiet and reflective book that doesn't lend itself to just turning pages, IMO.

  • I wanted to add that it is SO worth the read, though, and I'd hate for you to miss out on it!

I will put down The King if I have to, but I REALLY don't want to.

  • I agree with @sfgiantsjo.  It took me longer to get through it than it normally would for a book that size because it made me think.  I would try to get to it before it expires though.  It's well worth the read.

  • Does your library allow you renew ebooks?  Mine does even if there is a wait list.

  • I agree that I wouldn't want to rush through it. It was an awesome book that should be savored, IMO. According to GR, I spent 6 days reading it, which is a little longer than I would normally take to read a book that size.

I haven't had success with that function yet with a wait list.

  • It took me FOREVER to read this book.  Not because I didn't like it, but I never really felt like I just had to keep reading.  So I put it off, a lot.  If you take a break from The King you will be more on track with me :)

  • OMG. I started this book one day and then left it unread for months. I think it was a buddy read with @lauren620 . When I picked it back up, I finished it in a few hours.

  • It took me a few days too but well worth it. However, if I don't close out of the book (i.e. go to the Home page on my Kindle or open a different book), I'm able to finish it even after the loan expires.

If it comes down to it, I will try this!

  • New here but just wanted to say, if you turn your wi-fi connection off on your kindle they can't take the book back until you turn it back on.
  • I think I took about a week to read it, with mostly lunch hours only to read and a longer reading time over a weekend.

I always wondered about that! Good to know!
  • I read it in three days, but it was over Christmas at Luke's grandparents' and I had absolutely NOTHING else to do for those three days.
