It's been a while...

Hello, ladies. :) I've been around lurking, but haven't had much time to post because I'm a middle school teacher and we're coming into state testing season, so that's fun. :/

Anyway, I had a question. DH and I have decided to go ahead and start TTC #2 now, since there's really no point in waiting. Since I started charting my temps, they've been pretty consistently around 96. Today's temp was over 97. I took it at the same time as always and hadn't done anything before, so is this my ovulation spike or what? I appreciate the insight from any more experienced charters. :)

I hope everyone's having an awesome weekend!

Re: It's been a while...

  • Do you have a link to your chart?

It might be ovulation, it might not be.  Did you have other ovulation indicators?

  • I'm using the Ovia app on my phone for tracking and there's not a way, that I'm aware of, to share my chart. I have noticed watery, but not EW, CM. I'm just not sure what the temp spike will look like, because I haven't charted before. I've been thinking about trying OPKs, just to be certain, but haven't bought any yet. If anyone can make a recommendation, that would be awesome.

Well, charting sometimes takes some time to "learn" what ovulation looks like for each individual person.  One temp doesn't tell you a whole lot.  Without anything else to go by, you'll just have to wait and see if your temp stays elevated.  I don't know about Ovia, but FF is looking for 3 temps higher than the previous 6 before it marks it as ovulation.

ETA: As for OPKs, you can buy Wondfo test strips for very cheap on Amazon.

  • I've been looking at the Wondfo strips. I'll give them a try.
