Re: QOTD 4/8

  • We are both allergic to stupidity.

As for just me, I can't have a down comforter because I like to snuggle with my blankets and those just make me start wheezing.

DH will sneeze once when he eats a piece of dark chocolate.

I'm allergic to tea (makes me light headed and woozy), arrowroot in large doses and I get migraines from strong smells like perfume.  I also get seasonal allergies, mainly golden rod which just so happens to grow in the field behind our house.

I'm also convinced I'm allergic to bee stings because my mosquito bites swell to golf ball size!

DH is allergic to grass as it goes to seed, penicillin and gets severe migraines from overly processed food.

  • H has spring time allergies, but never tested as to what exactly. He just takes Claritin.

I have adverse reactions to meds that are suppose to make you tired: Sudafed, benadryl, codeine... I will be wide awake, raving heart, almost panic attacks. It's not fun. My papaw was like that so half of the grandkids can't take those meds.

  • I am the allergy queen!

Dust mites, dander, pollen, grass, leaves, trees, wool/angora/cashmere, mold, penicillin/amoxicillin/ceclor & derivatives...

Got allergy shots every week for 10 years and it helped a little.

  • We both have seasonal and mold allergies.

DH is also allergic to aspartame.

I'm really allergic to poison ivy.

  • Forgot about DH...he is "allergic" to bees (aka he is deathly afraid of them, but uses that as an excuse!)  It's cute  :bz

No real allergies for him.  Lucky guy!

  • EVERYTHING!!

There seems to be more am not allergic to than vice versa. I can't eat a lot of foods, particularly fruits and veg. I'm allergic to everything in nature. I have an epi pen for tree nuts and bee stings and I am supposed to have allergy injections but because I've basically been pregnant or breastfeeding for 4 years now I haven't been able to have them and it is killing me!! Also, instead of growing out of allergies, I develop at leat 2 new ones every year :/
  • H and I both have seasonal allergies.

H is allergic to feather pillows, etc. We always buy down alternative.

  • The list of things I'm not allergic to is probably shorter.

    DH just has spring allergies.

  • H has horrible spring allergies.  I mean sneezing uncontrollably, headaches, severe congestion, the works.  Thankfully he's not allergic to anything else.

I have mild allergies, mainly to mold, and that's it.

  • Not really. I think I have slight allergies in the spring but I don't take meds. I never used to in The Midwest but the CA pollen must get me more.

  • Just seasonal now for both of us. I'm still allergic to dogs, i cant be in someone's house who has a dog for a long period of time bc ill start wheezing, and that is only if their house isn't very well kept.
Growing up i got shots for 12 years for things like dust, dust mites, grass, english plantain, cats & dogs

I'm going to have to use this one in the future! The only thing negative on my last performance review was that I have a low tolerance for stupid. Lol!

I am allergic to just about everything in nature and sulfa drugs. Food wise I'm usually pretty good though. Thank goodness!

  • Allergic to the following: grass, trees, dust, dust mites, cats, cockroaches, some feathers, mold, fungi, bees and yeast. (List is a little more detailed because I just got retested in January)

I've been on pills for as long as I can remember and just started up allergy shots and nasal spray.

The only things I know for sure that DH is allergic to are shellfish, aspartame and a certain red food dye. Can't remember which number.

  • I'm allergic to latex (found that one out the hard way...) and I think that's about it.

H has spring allergies pretty bad and takes Allegra for them. He's also allergic to the contrast dye they give you for a CT scan. His eyeball was swollen, but his iris wasn't and it was SO freaky to look at. He claims he's allergic to strawberries, but he eats them on occasion, he's just not a huge fan. He had a reaction as a child to some kind of medication, I just don't remember what.

  • I should live in a bubble.  Thankfully, I'm not allergic to foods or medicines.  I'm allergic to dust, pollen, grass, cats, mold.  I have terrible hay fever.  Before getting allergy shots, I had to take an allergy pill every day, regardless of the time of year.  Now that I get shots, I am much improved.  I used to only be at my brother's house for about 15 minutes (he has 3 cats).  Now, I can stay for a while, as long as things aren't stirring too much.

H is allergic to penicillin.  He has mild seasonal allergies that he takes Claritin for on rare occasions.  I hope our baby gets H's allergies (minus penicillin) and not mine.  I got mine from my dad.
  • I am allergic to cats and annoyingly to aloe. Aloe is in so many skincare products, it's annoying.

Like Evan's H, my H is "allergic" to bees.

  • I have seasonal allergies. I'm also allergic to pine (which sucks for H since he always wants a real Christmas tree) and adhesive.

H is allergic to sulfa drugs.

  • Me: trees, pollens, weeds, grasses, molds, cats. I have minor allergies to many things, in all seasons. They usually don't bother me.

DH: None, though he is lactose intolerant.
