Spend my audible credits for me.

I want to cancel my audible account but have 3 credits to spend before I do so.  I haven't had great luck with audio-books lately, mostly because I haven't liked the narrator.  I spent over an hour listening to samples last night and just could not find anything, Can anyone recommend some well done stand alone audiobooks?

Some of my favorite audiobooks have been: Silver Linings Playbook, Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour book store and The Night Circus.  I know Ready Player One is recommended as an audiobook a lot but I've read it and want to listen to something new.

Lexicon by Max Barry was really good on audio. If you liked Mr. Penumbra and Ready Player One, I think you'd like that too.

  • If you like historical fiction I'm listening to The Winter Sea right now and really enjoying it!

I took a look at your TBR, I would suggest Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, any of the Richelle Mead books you have listed, and Me Before You by Jojo Meyes.

@fabk have you by chance listened to Fiery Heart?  That was one of my first choices but I wasn't sold on the narration when I sampled it.  I've been on the wait list at the library for it forever though so if you've listened and recommend it I will definitely get it!

    I have and loved it.
  • I really liked Graceling on audiobook, and also The Girl You Left Behind.
  • Saving Francesca I heard was really good on audio!

I did like this on audio. Ceresas recently recommended The Coldest Girl in Coldtown on audio. I sampled it last night and really like the tone/voice. I'm planning to get it before I quit audible this month.

Oh I've been wanting to read that one and it's available from my library on audio, thanks!

The only one I've decided on so far is Fiery Heart, my goal for the work day is to choose the remaining 2 :)

  • I haven't listened to the audiobook, but Please Ignore Vera Dietz is one of my favorite books!  It's pretty dark and weird, but I freaking loved it.  I'm pretty sure some others on the board have listened to it on audio.

I started Me Before You on audio, but I ended up buying the book so I could finish reading it because I felt like the audio wasn't fast enough for me to devour.  It was a good audiobook though.  It's another one of my favorites!

  • NOS4A2 was awesome on audio.

Unwind was really good (it takes a bit to get used to the reader's cadence, but it's that way for a reason).

I'm listening to The Shining Girls and the narrators are great thus far.

Beauty Queens is amazing on audio and quite funny.
