day date ideas?

The hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary soon! we decided to do a day date b/c its easier than trying to find a sitter, etc.

since i NEVER get out anymore.... any suggestions? what would YOU do if you could go on a day date?

Re: day date ideas?

  • brunch, shopping at the strip district, or someplace else we wouldn't go without the kid in tow. Just something relaxing and slow paced.
  • I like Amanda's ideas - we're big fans of sitting on the porch at Roland's in the Strip:)

We went to a day time Pirates game last week and it was a lot of fun!
  • DH and I do this often...easier than getting a sitter! We do lunch and a movie or lunch/masage/pedicures

  • i'm discovering all of the newer/trendy restaurants aren't opened for lunch during the week. argh. oh well. i guess any time alone without the kids no matter what we do will be wonderful! haha. i am thinking lunch and a movie too.
  • What about a museum?  Or even, if you're willing to wait a bit longer, a Kennywood date.  Something fun that you can't fully enjoy, or at the very least you enjoy differently, with kids.  They open during the weekdays on May 14th.  The same could go with for the Zoo, the Science Center, etc.

Bike ride/picnic at Moraine?  (Can you tell I am thinking SPRING!?!?!)

I also never pass up a massage.

    Rivers Casino?

Phipps currently has its spring flower show.

Is it possible if you do one of those things you could get in for an early bird dinner somewhere before retrieving your kids?

    Whatever you do, HAVE FUN!

  • I love day dates and the great ideas above!

Especially when they involve a glass of wine either at home or out.  There is something about enjoying a glass of wine at a time when you would normally be in the work place.

If it is rainy/yucky out then a nice lunch at home on the good china followed by some daytime TV (or a movie) while snuggling sounds good to me.

On a nice day taking the incline up to Mt. Washington and having lunch there would be so fun.

  • Find out where the Pittsburgh Taco Truck is and go for a taco--a fun quick lunch that could be added to other things!
