If you pack your kid's lunches come in!
we are going to switch daycares to one that we will need to pack our kids lunches. I know i am probably REALLY over thinking this..... but- any recommendations on containers/lunchboxes? also, do you pack milk or water or both?
I was thinking about packing things that would need to be warmed up but microwaving plastic bothers me so then i thought maybe pack glass....but that doesn't seem like the best idea. then i was thinking a bento box but then wondered if it and a drink would fit in a lunch box and would also have to add an ice pack... which led me to lunchblox by rubbermaid.... and that's what i'm thinking of getting....its tupperware that fit together with an ice pack.

We've been using this Rubbermaid lunchblox http://www.casa.com/p/rubbermaid-lunchblox-kids-flat-lunch-box-kit-purple-pink-green-973833?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_C&utm_term=FPS-273844&utm_campaign=GoogleAW&CAWELAID=500001890000057173&utm_content=pla&adtype=pla&cagpspn=pla
Dd has been using it since September and it's bee working out really well. This ice pack is still cool at the end of the day and there is room for a juice/milk box.
I'm with you; the preschool will heat things up but I hate putting plastic in the microwave.
For drink dd's place has milk and she brings a water bottle with her.
Replying too...we bought a thermos brand lunchbox at Target and it fits perfectly in ours too.
Next year, for kindergarten, I'll probably do a tupperware divided container/bento style.
When DD was in preschool/daycare, we used these: http://www.easylunchboxes.com/
I never packed water. They had glasses there that they could give the kids water in if they wanted it.
Would you need an ice pack? Both of our daycares have had fridges where they kept the kids' lunches.
