WWGPD?

Today is cd 31 and 16 DPO. I've never had a cycle this long. Testing this morning but the results were negative. I've been having cramping off and on but no sign of AF or spotting. Should I do another pregnancy test? Or should I call my doctor since I used Clomid this cycle?

Re: WWGPD?

  • Were you monitored at all during this cycle?

Just at the beginning. I'm actually not very happy with my doctor since I haven't talked to her since O.

  • Did you use OPK;s to determine when you O'd, I know on my Clomid cycles, even though I was monitored, they tended to be slightly longer cycles for me, and I O'd later than normal.

  • I would definitely call in, and not do another round of Clomid with her.

I would wait a few more days and test again, if it's still negative, put a call in to your Dr. And, if you do need another cycle of Clomid, I would push for monitoring, or find a new Dr. There's a LOT that can go wrong with Clomid, and so often OB's use it like candy for anyone who has been TTC for over a year.

I am extremely irritated with her because I asked about monitoring before we started. She said they monitored. It was after I had taken it, I went in to see her and she said to call her if I had a positive test or AF came. Ummm that's not monitoring. I'm calling a RE when AF comes.

  • Temping may not be accurate because you were taking Clomid. Can you link your chart (sorry, I'm on mobile)? Maybe you're not actually 16dpo?

This is yet another reason for working with an RE. They'll properly monitor you, you won't need to use OPKs, or temp. They should be telling you when you're ready, not the other way around.

I'm sorry hun.  That's exactly what my OB did and it was so frustrating!  I even asked if he did monitoring.  "Yup, we'll do your u/s on CD7 and you will come in again on CD21."  Then I learned from these fine ladies that wasn't monitoring at all.

  • I know on my medicated cycles, my LP was longer than normal, so maybe yours is just going to take a couple of extra days?

  • I O'd later on Clomid than my OB told me was the "normal" cycle day when taking Clomid.  I would keep testing every other day until either a positive test or AF.
