Thursday

Hi.
I'm tired.
I've got a test tomorrow.
I hit my elbow yesterday at work and had to file and incident report. My arm still hurts. I really whacked it.

What do you got?

  • I'm trying to get ds1 to sleep. This big boy bed thing is hard for naps.

I need ideas for a shower gift for someone I don't really know. They registered but all the small things are gone. Ideas?? What was the best thing you got that was a registry item?
  • Echo: Wedding or Baby? I will assume wedding since neither me or JLQ would have experience with baby showers. Lets see I always like the things that had personal touches like cookie sheets with their favorite cookie recipes. Does that help?

  • Yes yes wedding lol oops!

    I like that idea degrea
  • My favorite non-registry give would either be our framed last name. It has the letters of our last name individually picture in different things. If you creep on my FB photos from bridal shower #2 you should see a picture of it.
Or we got this really beautiful vegetable serving platter with a dip bowl in the center. It's huge, and the pattern on it is so pretty and I just love it!! It's not anything I would have registered for myself.

  • I gave my SIL a whole bunch of serving dishes as I noticed she didn't register for any. That is always a good idea JLQ!

Another idea is something that would remind them of home or of family. One of my great aunts wrote out a bunch of family recipes that I cherish. And a friend of mine gave me a cutting board in a shape of NY with a heart where H and I meet. Another friend gave me a cutting board in a shape of a buffalo!

    Hope that helps Echo!
