I posted in last Friday's confessions about my dead Kindle and how I was contemplating using cc rewards to get a new one. Well, I figured I should at least contact Amazon first and was hoping they'd offer a discount on a new one at the very least.
They just outright replaced it! Despite it being 3 years old and 2 years out of warranty! Yippee!!!!!

What??? That's awesome!
When I messed up my kindle keyboard, they just offered me a discounted replacement. They didn't offer me a free one!
@sonore32 I did an online chat and got Rahul. I told him what was wrong with it and he had me go through a couple troubleshooting steps. When those didn't work he said he checked and saw I was well out of warranty but he was going to make an exception and replace it for free.
