Re: Thursday Randoms

  • My head is in a very negative place today.
    Not good times.
It's beautiful today.  Tomorrow I get to go to the book bazaar again and fill up any size bag (as long as I can carry it out) full of books for 2 bucks.
My husband built a bike trailer so we can do our grocery shopping by bike finally.
We are talking about biking the C&O canal sometime this summer depending heavily on very specific things.
As much as I want to do that, I'd rather have those very specific things, but my head is saying it will never happen.
    So, negativity abounds today.

    "I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

  • I am shopping around for the best photographer to get professional pictures done for the Twins 6 months and I AM SO EXCITED!!! I think I found one and I am checking my email every 15min to see if I got an email back...

  • I'm SUPERDUPEROMG excited for this afternoon. I'm having dinner with my mom and my sister, and we are going to a local indie bookstore afterwards. We get to spend $120 in groupons on books!  Yahooo!!!

It's sort of ridiculous to be so excited, but I haven't spent a bunch of money on books in a long time, and now I get to pick out a bunch without actually shelling out cash.

  • All stores in my area have stopped carrying the only toothpaste (Colgate Dora in pink) that my 3-yr old will tolerate.  They have the same toothpaste in different colors, with different cartoon characters on the front (Spongebob in purple and Ninja Turtles in green) but are all bubble gum flavor, but NO IT IS DIFFERENT and is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

I am seriously buying a wholesale case of toothpaste off of Amazon (they sell it in boxes of 6) because I am so over having a never-ending arguement with a toddler about toothpaste twice a day.

  • My allergies are being ridiculous today.

I shopped online and put a shit ton of crap in my Old Navy shopping bag this morning, knowing full well that I am not going to buy it, because I am super-poor right now thanks to the stupid hot water heater in our stupid rental house.

I took tomorrow off but DH wants us to go do yard work at the aforementioned stupid rental house.

I have been reading a lot of mildly enjoyable but crappy books lately. I need to step up my reading game.

Thanks!  I'm more of a jump-right-in-and-post kind of girl.  :)

However, I live on the west coast, I've been married for three years, and I love all different kinds of books.  I recently finished The Name of the Wind.

I do this all the time, with all of the stores.  I even look for deals for my imaginary shopping.

  • Last week I had to get a few pre-skin-cancer moles removed.  One spot is on the back of my leg, at the exact spot behind my knee where the back of every chair I sit in hits.  It's refusing to heal because every time I sit down, it tears open again.  I can't go to the pool until it is completely healed.  Also, it itches.

  • I spent a good part of my lunch break crying about work and now I'm seriously doubting my decision to take tomorrow off.  I've been looking forward to not coming in tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to turn work off enough to enjoy it and that makes me feel like crying some more.

  • If I were to make mini pizzas on English muffins and freeze them, do I freeze them before or after I cook them?  All the "recipes" I'm finding seem to indicate after, but it seems like I could be cooking it twice.  I feel so stupid that I can't decide on this.

I vote for freezing before you cook them -- because when you buy a frozen pizza the cheese isn't melted yet.

Great point!  It just seems like with something that would get soggy like that, baking it twice would ruin it.

  • My annual review is next week and I know I'm going to get talked to about my shitty attitude sometimes  but honestly if my clients didn't get allowed to treat me like crap and/or I had tools to do my job I wouldn't have such a bad attitude about things.

  • We tried a new place for dinner last night and it was mostly delicious but I'm pretty sure that one of my clams was bad and even though I spit it out I think it still gave me mild food poisoning.  Also, one of our volunteers is creating seriously stupid drama and is now involving board members.  He's a treat.  Today has been awesome.
