s/o rating books. do you change your ratings

Have you ever gone back and changed your rating? If you do is it usually to make it higher or lower? What will make you change it.

I most definitely have. I will rate higher or lower fairly equally. I will finish a book and rate on my initial impression, but the more I think about the book the more my impression changes. Sometimes my mind is stuck on a plot flaw that drove me crazy and I will lower the rating. Other times I keep dwelling on the underlying message or a character that I love and up goes the rating.

I am particularly stingey with 5 stars so many of those come from rating changes a few weeks after reading.

I have. I rate them on my initial feelings about the book but if the ending wasn't very good then I usually rate the book lower. A day or two later though if I realize that I really enjoyed the rest of the book I'll raise the rating. I don't usually decrease the rating though because I'm already stingey with my stars.

I have. If l do a re-read l may change the rating, but note the old one in the review.
I sometimes will look over my books and lower a 5star to 4 if l don't recall the characters, storyline etc.

No, though I'm often tempted to. I'm very stingy with five stars. It has to really wow me. But then I find myself recommending really good four-star books to people and thinking about them for months afterward and it's "why didn't I rate that five stars?"

I totally go back and change my ratings every once in a while. And they usually go up. My initial reactions to book endings are more about passion or disgust. After a week or so, I may think about the story, the plot, the secondary characters, the character development, etc. and decide that it deserves more than I originally gave it.

I will frequently change ratings after reading a book a second time (or 20th time, but who's counting).
Most of the time these are books that I read a long time ago, and my tastes do change as I get older.
Usually the ratings go from a 5 to a 4 though or the other way around and don't vary much more than that.

Every once in a while. Usually it's with books where I was torn between 3 or 4 stars or 4 or 5 stars. If something was good, but ends up really sticking with me and has me thinking about it weeks or months after, I'll go back and up my rating.

I think I've done it a few times. Like another poster said, I rate immediately after finishing but sometimes feel differently after time has passed.

I do sometimes, especially once I think about the book and my feelings have changed. I went back and gave Allegiant a lower review, because the more I thought about the book, the angrier I got about it.

I have, but don't normally. I was talking to someone about 2 different books, thinking how much I liked one and how annoying one of the MCs was and how her conversation distracted from the book. Bascially I was telling her to read Book A and not Book B. I back went and looked, and I'd rated both books the same!
