Amcourt

I know you had mention before that you and your H are talking about baby #2 and I know you had a csection. Just wondering if you were going to try for a VBAC or just do a repeat csection. H and I have been talking about this for future reference (not anytime soon) just because I like to be prepared and I just am not sure. I obviously had a csection for other reasons but my doctor has mention before that if everything was smoother she would let me try for a little while. Anyways just curious since your closer to another baby than anyone else here lol.

Re: Amcourt

  • To be honest, I haven't put too much thought into it yet but I think I would probably have another c-section. Part of me really wants to do a VBAC but part of me is really nervous that it wouldn't work again. I never got to experience that water breaking, rushing to the hospital, labor day that I always pictured because my c-section was scheduled and I feel like I missed out an important experience. On the other hand, I had such a wonderful delivery and recovery with T that I think I would want to repeat that experience with number 2.. if there is a number 2 ;)

    Are you leaning either way?

  • More than likely a repeat csection. I don't even think I could progress enough. I did actually go into labor and had 24 hours of back labor (no water breaking) with contractions 3-5 mins apart and only progressed to 3 cm. even my doctor said she didn't think that breaking my water and giving pitocin would have made a difference. I would hate to go through that again.

Plus like you said the recovery was fairly easy except the first few days. I think mine was so easy because I had liquid stitches which was really nice! I'm also RH- and I know with a second pregnancy it's a little more complicated than the first. I have to actually carry around cards saying I have gotten my shots since having Ethan.
