  The Fury trilogy by Elizabeth Miles.   It's YA paranormal so not a murder mystery type but definitely creepy.

  I so agree that Dean Koontz has some good choices. Intensity. Velocity.

  I love the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz.  I'm also a fan of the Special Agent Pendegast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child- starts with Relic.  They are creepy mystery/adventure/
