Dreams of Gods and Monsters (sp through 23%/ p. 146)
What do you guys think so far?
I teared up when Liraz went to keep Zuzana and Mik warm with her wings. She's one of my favorites; I love seeing the vulnerability (and how much she hates it) behind her hard exterior. I think she stands to change so much, and my heart expands every time she moves away from the bleak and violent life she's always known.
I'm so curious about who Eliza is too. Is she seraphim or chimaera? I think she might be a Stelian.
And poor Ziri! Obviously, I want to see Karou and Akiva find a way back to each other, but my heart hurts for Ziri when he's pining for Karou. I'm still holding out hope for him and Sveva to have a love connection in the end.

I'm just about at the same point, I just passed the part with Liraz keeping them warm.
Her name escapes me at the moment, but I think that Eliza may be the chimera who Madrigal grew up with who turned her in for meeting with Akiva. (Hence the 'we forgive you.') But then wouldn't she have hamsas on her hands? You'd think that would have been noted already.
Brimstone could have kept Karou in a thirble longer. And Karou was also a child, with no memories of being Madrigal until the wishbone was snapped.
.. although you're probably right because Brimstone requested a human child's teeth only once.
My gut says that Eliza is someone we've met before, but in a different way. I need to go home and read.
